Not content to destroy GM itself, GM Execs have destroyed one of the
icons of the European auto industry. They destroyed it with blandness
the way Citroen went down. Check out this link and click on the slide
show. The second photo in the slide show is stunning.

I can't think of one American industry that doesn't need a taxpayer
bailout due to the criminal malfeasance of the American CEO class.

Gee and to think none of this would have happened if we drilled for oil
instead of the left blocking
it which would have averted the housing collapse the left created with
subprime loans.

Say whatever insults you want to, but GM took SAAB down like they did
with Opel, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Hummer, and Saturn. They sold Hummer to
Red China. China has to import oil, but they now build more cars than
the U.S. (It seems the Marxists are better capitalists than GM execs,
eh?). Kenneth Lay and Dick Cheney's oil pals who drove up the cost of
diesel to $5.50 a gallon and gave us $4.00 a gallon gas, all of which
happened under a Republican controlled congress and a Republican white
house. The Republicans squandered the "peace dividend" which would have
given us Caspian Sea oil or even Iraq oil by pissing off the good allies
we had after 9-11.

Well..actually..it was under a Democrat controlled Congress ..with a
Republican president.

Just thought you might want to know......

Only because of some scandals which caused some Republican congressmen
to have to resign due to ethics violations, IIRC. There was that
Florida congressman who was sexting page boys. There was a Texas
congressman (R) who was sent to prison. There was the Senator Craig
scandal where he was arrested for soliciting sex in a men's stall in a
airport restroom. The Dems became a majority not due to winning
elections, but because of Republicans having to resign in disgrace,
IIRC. Also, Republicans controlled both houses prior to Bush's second
term and Katrina. The gas prices went up after Katrina as oil companies
reported record profits. Prices had very little to do with lack of oil
as a previous poster claimed.

would resign.

Yet after Bush's second term..Democrats took control of both Congress
and the Economy and ultimately put the US into the Great Depression Part
Deux.....and the long deep slide is not yet done, despite the Feel
Goodisms of the Leftwing media at Christmas time.

And I note that you left out the long long long list of Democrats
arrested for sex crimes, theft, rape and so forth, during the past 10
yrs. A list that puts Republican fuckwittery to shame in both scope and
nefariousness.

But..shrug...in less than 3 yrs, the People will wake up one
morning..look at each other..look at the cars, tents and slums they will
be living in..and simply grab their guns and rise up and kill all the
Leftwingers across the land.

And the Nation will suffer a bit, then realize that the threats to the
Constitution are now moldering in mass graves..those that still were not
hanging from street lights...and it will go back to the Constitutional
default settings..and slowly but surely recover and be a great nation
once again.

And the Leftwingers will be dead and not missed in the slightest.

Works for me. How about you?

Hummmm???

I might suggest moving to Canada or Cuba in the next 18 months or
so...if I were you.

I can't think of one bailed-out company that we wouldn't have
been better allowing to fail, keeping our money, and letting
people with a new set of ideas put those ideas together with
the useful remaining pieces and make something better.
The government is only supposed to make sure businesses
are behaving legally, not pick and choose which ones get
to be the winners based on who bribes the government with
the most campaign contributions.

That's the way capitalism is supposed to work. We've forgotten
that somewhere along the way.

Remember those CNN live videos of Russian tanks firing their turret guns
at the Russian "White House" (the Russian Congress or Duma) back when
Yeltzin took over from Gorbachev in the final days of the USSR? I
recall a Russian general who tried to stop the Gorby-Yeltzin coup which
brought down the Soviet Union. I wonder if we might see similar scenes
in the U.S. as the globalist "elite" bring down the USA and replace it
with some farce like the Federation of Independent States, flood our
nation with Mexicans and tax the former Americans with carbon taxes
until we are reduced to begging as the Russians were.

My, my. I touched a raw nerve with you by posting the story about SAAB.
Were you personally threatened when Barack Hussein Mohammad Obama put
a cap on the salaries and bonuses of the GM "Execs" who required a
Soviet-like takeover of their failed company? Is it because those
failed CEO's and "execs" wear suits and ties that you think they are too
good to fail? I'm puzzled as to why my observation that everything they
touched turned to shit resulted in your knee jerk defense of Republicans
in Congress and your snide comment that maybe I had better move to Cuba.

I personally would not buy a Mexican or Chinese built Escalade or Buick.
How about you?

Chamber of Commerce was always active in fighting no-growth or
slow-growth policies of cities like Boulder, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz
or Eugene, Oregon. They found one of the ways to counter the ZPG and
slow growth plans of the counter culture in the '70s was to flood the
country with fertile Third World peasants and sell it as a celebration
of diversity and paint those who opposed it as racists. They found the
achilles heal of the environmentalists, i.e., their fear of being called
intolerant or racist. Thus the Left got used like pawns by big business
interests. That's why corporate names are behind the SEIU, NCLR,
MALDEF, LULAC, MEChA, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Thats an interesting tale. Now while it may..may work that way in Blue

low to zero.

Knee jerk defense? Chuckle...you are new here arent you...pity. The
fact of the matter IS that in less than 3 yrs..the People will rise up
and murder the Leftwingers and their syncophants. A goodly number of
Republicans will be killed as well. Conservatives many of them are not.

This is something Ive been saying for a year.

I have no dog in the fight about Big Motors. I never buy a new car,
never have, never will. Ive owned US and foreign autos and motorcycles
all my life. I pick and choose what is the best bang for the money I
have at the moment I need a vehicle.

Id buy the best car I could find for the money I had in hand, no matter
where it was built. So far..Best Car doesnt include most asian imports.

The difference is that Dems typically don't resign for similar offenses
Case in point the Ma Senator who was caught up the ass of a Page not only
didn't resign but was subsequently re-elected
Politician malfeasance is endemic to both parties
It's just that Republicans tend to clean their house on their own unlike the
Democrats

It is interesting that the Republicans co-opted the word "Red" as an
identifier when it historically referred to commies. I guess even the
neo-cons have their own perverse sense of humor.

Well son...it was a Liberal news commentator who picked Blue for the
Leftwing states and Red for the conservative states.

" For over three decades, the TV networks have used blue and red maps to
mark voting results in Presidential elections. This practice began no
later than 1972, when color television had become universal. For the
first two decades, red marked the Democrats and blue marked the
Republicans. Then, in 1992, the colors were reversed.

I liked it much better in the old days. The Democrats were red, as in
"commies." The Republicans were blue, as in "blue bloods." Those colors
applied in Franklin Roosevelt's day and Harry Truman's day and Dwight
Eisenhower's day. Conservatives were taught this from our youth. The map
conformed to these fundamental truths. "

So we took the bit and run with it.

After all..it of course should have been the other way
around..Leftwingers are Reds...but...

So we indeed glory in it nowdays.

Well said. In my city, there's a new Tesla dealership. It's an
American company that manufactures electric cars. One model goes from 0
to 60 mph in 4 seconds. It's nice to see there's still a few Americans
who have the smarts to start a brand new car manufacturing company and
make a go of it.

Good for them - more of that is what we need.

I think it'll be a little while before electric cars become big in
my part of the country. If I understand the pure electric tech
so far, there isn't enough extra juice to run luxuries like
a heater - and a third of the year is might cold around here.

An air conditioner compressor is also be used as a heat pump to heat
the vehicle. It requires energy, but not as much energy as a
resistance heater. It might cut the time and distance the vehicle
goes by 25 percent, maybe less.
