What???
Oy Vey!!!
Still making stupid half-assed statements to support the pay and see party
policy no doubt.
Crime rate down like bloody hell it is.
Bodie
I thought you knew Moira by now?
She is so shallow you only get wet up to your ankles. Very low
intellectual threshold.
I must admit I was somewhat taken back by that comment, I don't know
the actual figures (does anyone ?) but I still hear of the robberies and
highjackings. I must say after turning my place into a fortress with dogs
alarms, etc.,etc., I haven't had a breaking in over a year which is
something of a record. The piece of crap I caught was convicted of
multiple house break-ins, but I don't know what sentence he got. I
did have my cell phone stolen at the traffic lights a couple of months
ago and some gear stolen out of my golf bag two weeks ago, but
I don't suppose that is classified as a crime anymore. I believe people
do not bother to report the minor thefts anymore to much of a
hassle.
Where would one obtain accurate crime figure ? do they exist.?

From whence it came Sporty, from whence it came.

I said "the crime rate was down a bit" not that South African
society has obliterated crime.

The South African Police website had figures when I looked last, but
I haven't looked for a while. Each year they release stats, by
category, and the violent crime rate was down from its highest
levels.

Moira, the Faerie Godmother
I hope my standard of living doesn't go up. I can't afford the one
I have now.

Exactly. Most people boast of their possessions and refuse to
make their home secure. The operative word is fortress and not
an electronic security system.
> Where would one obtain accurate crime figure ? do they exist.?
Depending where you live and how records are kept result in statistics.
For instance,
if a person reported a rape, and during the rape thousand of dollars or
millions of dollars
or merchandise were stolen, the only statistic recorded is the rape.
With global massive
unemployment and outsourcing, eveyone wants to create an image that
their town is worth
visiting where tourists leave their money and take away memories of a
good time. Gathering
and documenting statistics that produce data that supports high crime in
your area may be
in the best of some people but certainly not tourists dollars.
"Criminals were behind bars, and law-abinding folks were free"
but that now
"It's the law-abinding folks that are behind bars and the criminals...
free".
