One of the most important needs we have during a disaster is the ability to
communicate with family members. Your land phone line may be useless, and
due to
high call volume cell phone towers will be overloaded making your cell phone
dicey at best.

I am setting up my own communications center with a CB radio, and an
inexpensive
GMRS radio. To keep up with relavtives living close by this might be the
only
communications available.

Of course I'll have a weather radio, shortwave radio, B/W battery/AC tv, and
my
secondary computer. At least I'll have a chance of communicating with
someone,
and getting much needed information.
