MS Streets and Trips with the GPS

I have MS Streets and Trips with the GPS locator and am thinking of buying
the Earthmate package at $70 (my cost, about $28 net)

I run S&T off my laptop on real estate hunting adventures and have been
happy with its accuracy throughout the hills of Eastern TN.

But, I would like to be able to do more and have better screen placement
(now the laptop takes up the passenger seat. I would rather have a 10" diag
measure screen that I could place within the driver's line of sight but
still have the program running as it does now on the laptop.

I would like to be able to take a hand-held Garmin GPS out to the larger
properties and calculate the corners and acreage, uploading the data into
the laptop.

If this is NOT the list to ask, please advise.

If you know of a better list for a novice such as I, likewise, advise.
