I'm looking at getting a new high precision Auto Level. I've looked
at Leica and Pentax but found a local dealer for a level called a
Futura.

This thing is a 32X with under 3 second compensator accuracy and 1mm
over 1km double run.

It's about half the price of the Leica and a few hundred buck cheaper
than the Pentax.

Does anyone know anything about these levels? I've never heard of
them.

What could be the differences that make the Leica twice the price
other than paying for the name?

They have a web site at;
www.codycorp.com.au

I see no mention of the optics being sealed against condensation, nor
whether it will survive rough handling.
