as for photography, the best book i've come across on the subject is:

Edouard Jaguer's
Les mystères de la chambre noire : le surréalisme et la photographie
from 1981 or so.

There is a book called "Dada and Surrealist Film" Edited by Rudolf
Kuenzli, that gives a solid review and introduction with lots of
bibliography.

Now, tell me, are you attractive ?

And should we have sex together ?

Do you intentionally creep people out?

And are you wearing pants?

Film --

The best I've read are: J.H. Matthews' "Surrealism and Film" (1971), a
very clear look at surrealism's concepts of cinema and how they've
been implemented; and Paul Hammond's "The Shadow and Its Shadow"
(revised 1991), which gathers divers surrealist writings on cinema.
The best book on Buñuel's films is "Objects of Desire," a collection
of interviews. (I also like the Durgnat book though it doesn't take a
surrealist perspective.)

If I could read French, I would search out Ado Kyrou's and Robert
Benayoun's books, or the magazine "L'Áge du cinéma" they published in
the 1950's.

Photography --

Man Ray's autobiography.
