From the overwhelming response to this... I'd imagine you're
not the only person that doesn't know her.
First off... she was gorgeous. Always a plus.
One of the Surrealists... Designed sets, illustrated
the story of O and a few versions of DeSades books.
Did some costume stuff. Her drawings are wonderful.
Considering the size of the library you have handy...
you can probably find a book or two about her.
The Art Institute of Chicago put out a book called
"Women in Surrealism" Has a nice write-up about her.
