Hey Gamivia, that board of yours kicks ass. I'd be full of cosmic
engery too on a board like that. How come all the good garage sale
boards are down in SoCal? I have been on the search for a 70's gun,
around 7"6" in length. Nothing so far up here. The search is still on
though.

Hey Geo, what's up with your fetish with Lemming? Its like your the one
with multiple personalities sometimes. And a piece of free advice, give
respect, get respect. Its that simple.

Lemming/Sandman, have you finally cracked man? One thing to say, bring
back www.whammer.com.

As for me, I haven't surfed since last week, so I'm jonesin'. Its
been a very busy week and I haven't been able to leave the office until
at 8pm. So.. I can't wait for the weekend.

i wanted to show my respect by sending the man a tshirt, but he fears me and
showed mr disrespect. in the past sandman was a surfrider foundation
supporter, i thought he would like a surfrider foundation texas chapter tshirt
as a token gesture. and i bet he would have liked it, but he will never ever
admit it now. i have heard all the good, peaceful, friendly people of
alt.surfing talk to me privately, and they say i am being too hard on the poor
lemming. i will let him up now. peace and friendship to all.

by the way, lemming, i respect you so much that i used teflon coated
pre-lubricated barbless hooks, they should not hurt at all as you and daryl
remove them. :-)

Forget garage sales! I found a 5'4" version of Gams treasure floating in
the palsy channel at Hueneme one winter day. No one else on the beach.

Brought it home and patched it up. I'm saving it for li'l hulks first
glass.

Good one borrero! But you may want to add that the longhairs are
riding them on big juicy norcal waves.

I've got something far bigger and better brewing
than that old website. That was just an experiment
in techno/surf journalism. Maybe it's time to trot
out an old story or two?

For the politically correct Northwest Surfing
reader, there's always http://nxnwsurf.com/
Some of my more homogenized work resides
there. I've got in my possession right now
about 10 images from the best unknown surfing
artist that I have *ever* seen. I'm editing
them right now doing a bunch of color
correction. Here's a sample;
http://www.seanet.com/~lost/temp/green1.jpg
When they are all done, I'll let you know

Warning; SURFFREAK may claim that this image
is a fake... Know your digital art!

Rat, promise me you'll never get a desk job
and get fat and get married and move to Texas
and quit surfing... You've seen the results-

You should see this stuff in real life.
Almost all of the originals are oversized,
too big for a scanner. I took pictures of
them with my Mavica. Doesn't do them justice-

Dude, I have a desk job already and am trying to think of ways to start my
own business so I have more leisure time, if you know what I mean. Trust me,
I have no intention of giving up surfing and I am keeping in shape when I'm
not in the water. I have goals: Big Waves!

BTW, nice artwork.

What is it with Al and dumps? That
guy gets all his furniture from
public dumps. Where you there when
we surfed big dump and then he found
that lounger at the dump and strapped
it to the top of his sedan?

By chance have you converted that story
about the Texas surfer we both know who
went to the big island to digital? I think
jb would like to hear that one about now...

He needs a nice night-night story before
I turn out his lights-

dude was from S.F. and was into the counter culture
in the sixties and seventies, his art is the most detailed, crazy
shit you've ever seen!

Al is sitting on a gold mine! That stuff is genuine genius

whaha! I know that spot. It's the one where you park at the _____, and
walk through the ___, across the___, and down the ____, at which point the
lady of the lake rows up and oars you out to the line-up. Good taco stand
nearby, too.

Hmmmm, I always thought is was the secret spot
down the road from the Starbucks and the
Planet Hollywood?

Here's the trippy part about his art; If you
look closely there are 2 trees on the bank.
In real life these are 2 Madrona trees on
bank where you can hang out and check the surf.
I can't tell you how many times I've hung
at these two trees checkin the surf and just
thinkin about life in general. His other
images have other landmarks like stumps
that I just sit in and watch the surf and
chix and trip on the scene. Captures the
essence to the bone-

The kook from Padre Island, claiming to surf good texas
waves, traveling from texas to mainland mex all the time,
blah blah fucking blah...Comes to Hawaii full of that
typical texan attitude, lying about his surf ability.

We brought him to the south shore and it was about
solid three times overhead with 2 guys out...He said
he would rather watch for awhile...being like a good texan
kook, he never did paddle out that day...

The next 10 times we went to the south side and invited that texas kook
he declined in a good Texan manner, scared shitless. Na I'm gona
wash my car....nah I gota go shop for food...nah I gota think
up some new lies about how texas has really big waves, and
for some reason it's easier to rip on them then it is in hawaii, nay I'm
from
texas and can't surf worth the shit cause we got no waves in texas.

Did I ever tell you about the time we were at the bay...and some kook
from texas left his truck infront of the gate and criss promptly stole
four of his boards!
I bet that kook from Texas, went back to Texas feeling the bite of local
PNW
hospitality. He was the pro snowboarder from texas..named Tex....Hey
Tex...remember
kook...your not supposed to park infront of the gate...matter of fact
your not even supposed to
surf here anymore remember...texans are not welcome

That's the funniest shit I've heard in awhile.
Reason; I'm sitting in the house of two Snogirls
who snow-board with Tex. I've heard them talk
about Tex, Tex this, Tex that. I read your story
tonight and I ask them; "hey is your buddy Tex
from Texas". "Yes". "Does he surf". "Yes".

Not anymore

Who's next?

When was this? I can only remember one swell in the past ten years that
it was a solid three times overhead on the South Shore of Oahu (not
counting Hurricane Iniki in 92).

Just curious, unless you are a rather short 215 lb.

Actually it was a SW swell in Nov....
South side of the big Island is the most
consistent year-round! As long as you get there
really early though, cause the winds come around
10:00am

This secret place I'm talking about is really special.
There are Native Hawaiians living down on this beach
claiming soveintery. This cove stands straight up and
barrels! Hardly anybody surfs it either!
