Headed to the North Shore to check out the unusually large swell (for April) rolling in. Dead winds, patchy skies, multiple long period swells coming in with outer reefs popping. Only a handful of people in the water despite the decent looking surf. Then the sets came through and I could see why the low head count. West peaks looked great, but when the north peaks came through, the crowd was sent scratching and ducking. After talking with some of the crew on shore, I wimped out and decided not to go out. Went elsewhere and found a decent shorebreak. Unfortunately, I got there late and the conditions had already started turning with photogs already leaving the scene. Got a few but left somewhat unsatisfied. Maybe tomorrow.
