Life is good. Since turning in my labor card, I've found a new career.
I have become a professional beach bum. Yeah, I had a lot of amateur
practice when I was young, but now I'm really getting good at it. My
skin tone is a healthy color - not that pasty white it used to be; I'm
much fitter with regular swim workouts (and less desktop snacks,) and
my outlook is damn near cheery, unlike the carefully cultured grouch
persona I had for many years. It's had a positive effect on my social
life, too. I had no idea so many hot babes like to watch sunsets at
the beach. Yeah, life is good.

But perhaps the best part is getting so much water time. We've had a
bunch of really fun days this season already, (unlike last year -
hack, ptooie!) Sure, day before yesterday was a bit funky with
crossing windswells, but yesterday? Yeehah! I probably got ten times
my quota in the two hours. Water temps are still in the mid-60's, and
the size was respectable with some 6-8' faces. I didn't really expect
such quality, so when I caught my first wave, and it just kept getting
better down the line and started pitching over me, I had to give a big
hoot. The sound echoed off the cliff and the lip above me to make this
weird "closed room" sound. I don't think there were more than 5 guys
in the water all day, and when it got that crowded, I left the long
right slides to them, and moved over to rack up a few hot lefts into
the shallows.

I think I can handle this.

Day before yesterday looked pretty good I thought.

Say what? I get busted by a furriner? What, were you on a commando
mission, in&out before anyone knew?
OK. So the truth is, I saw a similar photo from one of the dawn
patrolers, but by the time I got my lazy butt out of bed, the wind had
already picked up. I hope you scored some of those.

glad to hear it! I was at Morro with the kiddies. B had a swim meet
in Fresneck saturday, so I went to meet, then the 2 of us hooked up
with the lad in SLO, had dinner downtown, and headed for beach motel
in Morro.

B has swim injury she's trying to heal, so C and I headed to a
protected spot, had a great morning. When we headed out, I thought
sure the whole beach would be blown out, it was pretty windy, but surf
was good just about everywhere.

Bfast at Rose's bar and grill, I recommend it, has football games on
over breakfast, that's hard to find.

I cooked up huge batch of spaghetti sauce at C's apt for the 2 of them
to split this week.

good day.
