Maui Beginner Advice Requested

Hi;

I am planning to spend a week in Maui early September, and want to use
boogie board (some experience) and also try some long board surfing
(total beginner). What is a good place to rent a long board?

What's a good beach with moderate waves without reefs or sharp
volcanic rocks?

I don't mind getting tumbled, but I would like to avoid getting sliced
and diced :-)
