I'm seeing the Occupational & Physical Therapy depts. at the University of
Washington in a week or two.

Can you please tell me of any specific equipment I should ask them about? I
need help transferring from a chair to a bed or toilet and back again. I
have no upper arm strength.

That's a pretty generic explanation of the situation. You should of course
express your concerns to them. Is the loss of arm strength temporary? You
would most surely benefit by having someone (maybe a friend) in your home to
assist you until you figure this out.

The arm strength - the whole thing is degenerative and progressive.
http://www.charcot-marie-tooth.org/about_cmt/symptoms.php I wear
ankle-foot-orthotics. Hands and fingers are shot, too.

I should have spelled that out in my post and will show and tell them
everything.

Do you know of any websites that I can search for ideas? I' have some, but
any extras would be helpful.

I'll be having an aid come in a few times a week and my wife will be able to
help at other times.

Hi,

One thing that has a list of resources is here:
http://www.prostheticdesigners.com/alphabeticalamputeelinks.htm and one I
found here http://adventhomeaccess.com/mag/

I am an amputee but don't have the challenges you speak about. This group
gets almost zero readership and if you search the Internet for CMT and take
a look at discussion groups in the newer Forum or Blog category. I hope
this helps even a little.
