We live in a condo and can't install a ceiling track system, even if we
could afford it. I'm still going to the University of Washington's OT/PT
department if my HMO will get of its keister. Heck, I'm prepared to pat UW
for it, if the HMO says no.
I saw them on TV for the first time the other day. i know where I
live. thre same holds true, in his words"A. Medical equipment can not
be written out of a long term lease, condo or building association
contract " so of you need it. I woulg look into it.
however, the issue of ceiling installation is a question of the type of
construction of the building.
by example, the building i live in is a concrete pour slab, stress cable
reinforced system, a method dating from the early 80's - while it is
possible to install a ceiling light fixture, fan etc, the bolt/anchor
system required for a ceiling mount transfer system is a much
longer/larger bolt and anchor, and would cause structural integrity
problems - thus they are banned.
similar, but updated methods, now exist for this type of concrete pour
that let an installation be done, but not with the older ones.
also many older 'stick built' structures exist where the joists can't
handle the weight load shifts involved
