I had it done this past Friday. No pain at all during the procedure.
Wore the supporter starting on the table up to Sunday. Each day now,
the left side is rather sore. it feels like the cord is the problem.
I am assuming that it is just inflammation from the procedure which was
less than a week ago. The right side is absolutely pain free. No pain
or discomfort at all. Very little bruising on the shaft itself. The
whole scrotum still looks swollen to me. I tried wearing the supporter
again but it makes the left side feel worse. It actually feels best if
I wear boxers and let it hang, but still hurts. Any suggestions? I
know it is probably a bit early to expect the pain to go away, but I am
spoiled by the right side not hurting at all! Thanks!

Try ice and maybe an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen. For me the
jockstrap worked best--it was my friend for 2 weeks. You are right
that some soreness at this point is not unusual, and it is often on one
side. Even my doctor mentioned this. (Maybe it is because one nut
hangs higher, which is true of everybody-- I guess that keeps them from
knocking together all the time). I should say too that I had
occasional mild soreness on one side for a year afterward--it was very
mild and generally came after a particularly vigorous "night before,"
and generally lasted just the day. I suspect this is very rare--in my
case it may be because I started up again very soon after the op. I
mention it only to reassure people out there who might worry about
every lingering twinge, anticipating a lifetime of unrelenting ball
pain. The bottom line is that it never stopped me doing what I wanted,
it went away entirely after a year, and I am now nearly 8 years out
with no problems.

I just wore tight underwear for a few weeks and iced for about the
first month. I couldn't do the supporter thing other than the trip home
from the urologists office, his rule.
Good luck and good medicine,

Update: Things are getting better. On Friday (1 week post) it started
feeling much better. This is much more bearable. Tested out things
over the weekend and everything was good. Same as before.

Of course we did. We are fully aware that one needs to be given the
"all clear" before unprotected sex occurs.

As a 6 month survivor, I am STILL having some pain to this day.
Like most others, the pain is mostly on ONE side (the right) and you do
get spoiled when one side is totally painl-free, while the other one
aches after a hard sneeze!
While wearing boxers worked for me for a month or so, eventually I went
back to "commando-style" because the elastic in the legs dug into my
groin and aggravated the problem.

Maybe letting the boys loose will do the trick for you? Nowadays I
cringe when I see my denims hanging in the closet....I think it would
kill me to wear those things for even a day!

Also try alternating between ICE and a hot-pad.
