I had a vasectomy about 19 years ago, after which I found sex not the same,
no sudden rush of ejaculate, it was very slow.

Also had slight discomfort when ejaculating.

Later in years feel slight pain when ejaculating

Recently painful ejaculation, also painful urinating

Very recently pain in abdomen, rectum etc

Now have prostatitis.

Anybody have any idea if there is a link

Anybody with similar problems.

Greetings,

I might add that when I had my vasectomy, I did not suffer any pain
whatsoever afterwards, although a colleague of mine suffered severely after
his.

At sci.med.prostate.prostatitis, this inquiry seems to come up pretty
regularly. From what I've seen, the consensus seems to be that
vasectomy and prostatitis are not linked--that it occurs just as often
in men with vasectomies as in men without. Of course, as you may
know, prostatitis is a very vague condidition with a range of
symptoms; and it is not well understood. In any case, 19 years is a
long time, during which lots of things could have happened (including
normal aging) to affect the health of your prostate. I assume you are
seeing a doctor? (You should also check out the ng above and the
prostatistis websites (there is an esp. good one listed at the
vasectomy website, under "Men's Health Issues."

Peter,

A little trouble understanding the time frame. You had your vasectomy
19 years ago. At what time frame did the various maladies show
themselves.

A few days after the op I did not get the same sensations as previous,
progressively got worse and the pressure reduced over the first year.

Quantity of semen also diminished, although now, my almost negligible amount
could be due to prostate problems which have also progressed over the last 5
years.

What can I say, this has not been my experience. My ejacs. have never
stopped feeling great, and the good is the same as ever. How old are
you now?

Sorry late reply, computer was down, just got back online:

I am 55 years old now, but the difference has been around from the early
days.
