I have a question for you guys who have had this done. DH is going in
July, just made the appointment today... the doc is busy until then.

I know we won't have sex for a couple days after the vas..... but whatabout
before....?? Is it alright to have sex the night before ?? I don't see
anything wrong and don't think the doc said anything about it. It will hrlp
calm his nerves..that's for sure.

Thanks

Highly recommended! We did it right after I shaved (which she
watched). That--and maybe the knowledge that it was my last time
"fully charged"--made for a really wild session. (And yes, it will
calm his nerves. Plus, it's a mercy, as some men won't be able to
ejaculate--even solo--for a week or more after the vas. And that's a
long time to go without.)

(Tell your DH that he can't say we never came him anything!)

BTW, I wonder if lots of us have "the night before" stories?

Hi,

No reason why not .. and there is no time that you have to wait for sex
afterwards - I was able to do it 24 or so hours after - you can do it
as soon as you feel ready.

Dave

That's what my doctor told me--and I did. But some guys do get told to
wait a week--or more (gulp!). I don't understand why, exactly, but I
know it is true.

Well, I can see that... after all it is surgery, so it is likley best to
wait at least 2-3 days after. I'll let him choose the position that's most
comforatble for him......that's for sure..LOL

A good plan. There has been some exchange here among veterans about
which to avoid. . .

This is to allow plenty of time for the area to heal before putting the
pressure of ejaculation on it.

Why? Two words: sore 'nads.

If she's on top, you'll get squashed (maybe).

If you're the busy one, you may give the boys a good jiggling, which
may hurt.

I would highly recommend having one last great sex session. The usual
statement that vasectomy makes no difference in sex is untrue. In my
personal research of over 40 men (friends - relatives - and anyone I come
in contact with) I have found 2 who admit that there is a big difference.
One man lost his testicles after complications of the vasectomy and the
other lost his ability to have erections and it is 11 years now for him.
I lost the "good" sex immediately after my vasectomy of 6 sept, 2004 and
now I am on testosterone therapy for pain relief. It is very hard to get
good information from men. I learned of the problems the 11 year man has
from his wife and she told me I am the only person besides her and one
doctor who knows this about him. He keeps this a tight secret! I know
most men will never tell of sexual problems so the story that goes around
is that "it makes no difference". Now you know it sometimes does and the
percentage is about 10. My doctor who will eventually operate on me and
attempt a reversal for the pain I have (if it remains after testosterone
therapy) Told me the number of men who end like up me (PVPS) is between 3%
and 9%. If I only had lost the great feelings sex gave me before vasectomy
and not ended in constant pain I would not be complaining or seeking
medical treatment. I believe the actual number of men who find sex less
pleasureable after vas is no less than 10%. The number who will admitt to
having problems is far less. The statement that vasectomy makes no
difference in sexual pleasure is at best a half truth and should be read
and an advertisment promoting this risky operation. My vivid memories of
what sex was before vasectomy have faded so much now I really cannot
remember. I had something very special that is gone forever. I plan to
find an end to the PVPS and rebuild the life I had into someting good
again. No person who has not suffered PVPS can imagine the effect it will
have on him. If the risk of vasectomy is worth it to you then you have my
well wishes but be sure to get a good imprint of you former sexual
pleasure fixed in your memories as it may be needed to carry you through
some rough times.

Well, I could see how losing your testicles would change how sex feels!
And now being able to get hard. But man, it's a very unlucky guy,
with a real bad doctor, and another who has a hangup about shooting
blanks, who this will happen to. I could see how pvp would also change
things. All I know is for me sex feels even better. And it's been
almost 7 years now.

Luan,

After reading several of your posts, it is apparent that you are in a great
deal of pain. This has most certainly has polarized your view of vasectomy in
a very negative way. I hope your reversal surgery goes well.

My sexual sensations are *identical* to before the vasectomy. I can't even
detect the titanium clips without probing for a while. If the PVP numbers were
as high as you claim, this procedure would not be very popular! I am not
discounting the cases of PVP that do occur, but do not agree with the numbers
you quote.

Good luck with your reversal!

Mister Ed
