I'm going to call the surgery tomorrow. Maybe there's an infection going on
or something.
Best regards
Dave
Even while lying down sometimes it made me feel better.

First off, what you are experiencing is not abnormal. Men do experience some
degree of discomfort in the days following the procedure. Those who had no
discomfort, bruising or swelling are really in the minority.
What helps a great deal is wearing a proper althletic supporter (jock strap)
day and night for a couple of days, and whenever you feel you need a bit of
support in the days after that. Briefs don't provide support, and tighter
briefs still dont - they are just uncomfortable. Boxers, don't even bother!
A proper size jock is comfortable to wear, and provides lots of support. You
can get them from sports stores such as JJB.
What also helps is to ice the area with frozen peas/corn - helps reduce the
swelling. Take things as easy as possible.
You might like to have a chat to the doctor or a pharmacists on what
medications will help, but don't take anything with aspirin in it.

Most men with no problems simply don't feel the need to go on the web with
"How good it was for them", but men who had a bad experience naturally will.
The bad stories are disproportionate to the good ones.
According to the official UK statistics for 2002, some 18% of men aged
between 19 and 69 have had a vasectomy. If a small percentage of those men
weren't satisfied I'm sure we might have heard more in the media about it
than we do.

Still loads of swelling and it's all down one side. The other side seems
fine. Gravity is certainly not helping me here!
Thanks again for your advice. I think I'll take a further couple of days off
work and take things easy.
Best regards

I think like most things in life, vasectomies affect different people in
different ways. Consider an injection in the arm, some people bruise, some
don't. Consider having wisdom teeth out .. some people suffer for days, some
don't !!
Vasectomies are no different and lots of things come into the equation. It's
only been 2 days for me and I have been better today but it's still bloody
painful.

Bruising can increase after a few days. If the swelling continues to
worsen, you probably should go back to see the doctor. One bit of
advice bears repeating: JOCKSTRAP! I wore one for about 2 weeks
after, and it made a big difference.
