I am staying home from work. Pain and a new swelling developed on the
left side since Sunday evening, and this morning the doctor told me that
I have an infection and need a good rest and 2 weeks of antibiotics.
Without rest things "look bad", as he told me.

Wish me luck. I'm not looking forward to having pain for an extensive
period.

Hi Rob: I wish you speedy recovery from infection.
Lets hope things stop at infection, which is easy
to take care of btw.

Cheers,

I do wish you luck and I believe the odds are good you will fully recover.
I might add I would gladly trade places with you and deal with an
infection rather than the unknown condition I am working with. It is 6
months now for me and the pain is small compared to the first 64 days.
However, I get a nasty "kicked in the nuts" pain ordeal nearly everytime I
have an orgasm. This ranges from mild and lasting 5 to 10 minutes to
severe adn lasting over 20 minutes. I plan to see another doctor on
monday and hope to began learning what might be the cause, it is only on
the right side if my nerves are telling me the truth.
Reason I wanted to post this reply: A few years ago a friend and neighbor
came to me to borrow money for a vasectomy. ($500) He said he would return
in 10 days and repay me. Ten days came and went and 20 and 30 and I began
to wonder if he forgot. Finally 6 weeks after he borrowed the money he
came by and handed me a fist full of greenbacks. He looked me in the eyes
and said, "I know you have been wondering where your money was, I did not
forget you. Today is the first day I could leave my house alone since this
vasectomy. My balls swelled up as big as grapefruit and just visiting the
toilet was a big deal, no way could I drive a car." Well, that is how it
can go, and I know of 4 cases (of about 22 that I personally know)with
complications of this type. I wish I could ask Paul if that was all he
had to deal with for pains but sadly he is gone now - car crash.
I tell my girlfriend/finacee that this is about the best birth-control I
can imagine, she is not happy with my attitude (I have not seen she since
I had the vas) I remind myself that no woman knows what this feels like.
I am planning to visit her this month, curious to see what reaction I/we
will have after this problem. Curious to see if the powerful attraction
will override the pain - memories of pain etc.
Good Luck!! Luan

What a nightmare! I sure hope they can find a cure for your problem as
well. In my surroundings the number of complications is also higher than
the few percent that is often quoted.... makes one wonder.

My situation is improving. I have been panicing a bit especially since
the doc told me that if I would not take rest, things could go very bad.
Yesterday evening I had a 39.1C fever, and I raced to the hospital to
have my blood tested. Fortunately everything looks ok, there are only
remains of the week-old infection; nothing new. Probably some kind of
relatively innocent virus hit me during the weekend. My left testicle
feels like an easter egg: same size, same hardness. I'm told this is
going to take a little while to normalize. But since this morning, I'm
actually feeling capable of doing some work. Pain has not been
unbearable at any point during the last week, just unpleasant. Mild
painkillers do the job. I'm taking all the rest I can handle, up to the
point where my wife gets crazy because she has to do all of the house
tasks next to her full-time job. I haven't had so long a period without
an orgasm since I was 12....

Thanks for the support.
