Not to discourage anyone else from doing it but the pain I've had during the
first 9.5 weeks since my surgery has been so unpleasant and mentally
draining that even if I were to get better tomorrow, I would still regret
it. For me, I was planning a lovely time while on parental leave with my
two girls and the pain has turned each day into an ordeal affecting their
happiness and mine. My vow to myself is to never have any surgery again
unless I have to. I had been considering a procedure to end my snoring but
there is no way I'll risk having post-op problems again.

I sound bitter, I know. I admit that I am. I am open and honest with my
feelings with people but I always state that since I know the vast majority
of people don't have any problems, I am not anti-vasectomy-vasectomy. My
dad had one years ago and he had no problems. I grew up assuming that this
was like a trip to the dentist. Perhaps that is the source of my
bitterness, I don't know.

I intended this to be a reply to "Regrets?" posting below, not a stand alone
posting. This may matter to some - I think it changes the impact knowing
that my message was a response to a question, rather than an unsolicited
comment.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the clarification - I don't think anyone is really going to have
a hissy-fit over it not being attached to the thread you intended!
Newsreaders behave in odd ways sometimes, and posts often seem to become
detached from their threads on my ISP's server :(

I assume that you have been back to your doctor with the problem - what is
being done currently?
