I am having an episode of vertigo plus some tinnitus. I will work
through it OK and will take a few days. Sure is tough.

The ENT prescribed Ativan as an aid. Looking this up, the information
on Ativan says it is an anti-depressant (and could be habit forming).

How would an anti-depressant help vertigo? I have not taken any yet
and would like some information from those who have taken some or
thought of taking some.

Thanks

SSRIs appear to help many people with tinnitus, taken in small doses.

Pehaps with the drugs causing the same symptoms as the maladity itself, they
act as a homeopathic substance, taken in small doses. The reduction of
anxiety can make a big difference in your perception of tinnitus, and how
you respond to it.

Research Mennieres disease. Some claim relief using suffient manganese
supplimentation.

Please standby for the troll inputs, next.

Susan,

My Ativan prescription strength is 0.5mg. Is that considered a small
dose. I have pretty much worked through the vertigo and will try
Ativan when tinnitus increases.

I took Ativan for my tinnitus in the beginning. If i had to do it all
over again, I would have shot the doctor who prescribed this med to
me. It is HIGHLY addictive. Once I was on it, each time when I tried
to pull out, the ears screamed like mad. I finally had to have the
help of other doctors to help me get out of this med.

I would not go for Ativan. There are other OTC drugs that can help
you resolve the sleeping problems by improving the blood circulation
in the head. These meds do so by softening the T sound in your head.

I have forgotten their names now but I used to post a lot here until
low lives like BLUTO came along. You can look them up.
