Hi all...

Last year, I had this excruciating pain in the lower left side of my
neck. I was pretty sure it was my thyroid, but Doc felt the neck,
palpated the thyroid, and said it was probably a blocked Eustachian
tube, from sinus or allergy drainge type thing, but not thyroid. I had
it a few more times, and always suspected my thyroid (I have Hashimotos)
bec. it also came along with the tiredness/malaise and such, but she
said not likely.

Now, I'm waking up with this terrible pain in my left jaw, (same side as
before) that makes chewing VERY sore. There's a bit of a sore throat on
the left side as well, along with slightly tender neck.

Anyone have any ideas whether this could be thyroid? Perhaps a goiter
in development? (I'm 19 weeks pregnant, TSH is good -- 2 -- but I
understand pregnancy can create/accelerate goiters if you have thyroid
disease/Hashimotos.) I thought perhaps it might be temperomandibular
joint (TMJ) pain, but it doesn't sound consistent with what I've read
about TMJ.

Would appreciate any ideas...thanks!

Mary

I've suffered with these types of pain for two years on and off. I think it is
linked with hashi's (which I also have).
The only reference I can find is in
Solved : the riddle of illness - a small paragragh on hashi's.
