If you don't know what gmail is, check it out at
http://gmail.google.com If you then want an invitation,
all I need from you is a working email address.

Thanks
One down, 99 to go. <sigh>

Another one sent.
I'm not going to keep confirming after this, because
it's just a waste of bandwidth. You can assume that if
you make a request here or by email, that your
invitation went out immediately after I received it.
One word of warning: there are some providers who send
these invitations to the spam bin. That's where yahoo
sent mine. So if you don't get your invitation within
twenty-four hours of giving me your email address,
check there, and if it's not swimming with the spam,
email me direct, because something got screwed up.

Google scans the text of each email for keywords, and then puts little
ads (clickthrougs) on the side of the screen.
This raises a privacy concern for me...is Google building a database
on me and developing a "profile" based on what it perceives to be
keywords in my emails.
Food for thought before signing up for an account.
Info about Gmail and privacy concerns (not to mention a
personal vendetta follows). Some of it is rather
comical. The third link, however, speaks to the issue
raised in Dave's post:
