but not only without smoking I also was able to keep my mood under
control, a bit down but not going totally downhill, I think this is a
great going.
thanks for all your responses this morning, this also helped me to get
through the day.
if I can get through a rough day like this I think I can get through
another day tomorrow.

And you don't even have to think about that. Tomorrow never quite

Congratulations on both counts Carmen. Moderating one's mood can be a
terrific challenge. And, of course, we know that staying smoke-free is a
challenge in the early days.

Carmen, I know exactly how you feel about your "little girl". I have
two great hulking sons, who will always be "my little boys." One of
them came across a fine treasure for all of us. Both boys are
currently trying to clean up their father's house in the Catskills;
their father died at age 89 last February. Evan, the younger one,
found a stash of old black & white contact sheets of photos their
father had taken of them when they were quite young. He is gradually
making prints of them and sending copies to me. He even gave me an
album to store them in.
But what I really wanted to tell you is that I have been reading your
posts for quite a while; both when you were the Happy Polar Bear and
when you were not so happy. It is very hard to quit smoking, probably
one of the hardest things that can be done. But the secret is that it
can be done; just check out the quit list and you will see how many of
us there are. You belong on that quit list in a permanent position
and you can make that happen. Hold on tight dear bear, it's a bumpy
ride but it's better than inhaling nicotine poison every day that will
harm you in a very bad way. I am rooting for you. I know you haved
it in you to prevail.
