Yo, Quitters!

I am home. The grandson is huge - 23", 9+ lbs, big hands, big feet,
big elf ears, and, as the nurses said, "well-endowed"! They had a
rough day where he wouldn't eat and they put him in intensive care for
observation. My son broke down and had a smoke at that point, but he
is the one who will not blow a quit over one cig.

Me, I am so happy to be here, so happy to have the voice back to sing
him the songs I sang my sons, so sorry my husband is not here to meet
his grandson. Don't smoke, guys. Those you leave behind will spend
the rest of their lives crying at happy occasions. Ron would have
loved Aidan.

For those of you with little ones - someday you will feel guilty
because your smoking encouraged your kids to smoke. I feel bad that
mine are struggling because I brought them up to smoke.

Check out the meter! Creeping up to my last ever QOF!

(Thanks, all - it is because of you I can do this!)

Maude

Not interested in smoking for two months, three weeks, 22 hours, 24
minutes and 0 seconds. 3277 cigarettes not smoked, saving $655.47 and
1 week, 4 days, 9 hours, 5 minutes to spend with my grandson and doing
dog agility.

Smoking is not the answer. What was the question?

I have placed my squirrels in the paws of dog and now all is right with the world.

Hi there Nana!
I'll just quote the Grandmother's verse.

Congrats on your giant grandson Maude, shame your son smoked. I take
it not just the baby got smacked on the bottom. Try not to feel guilty Maude
about your kids struggling with smoking. One of my favorite sayings would
be:
"if you had known better you would' ve done better", right?
Thanks for sharing,
Robin.

Oh Maude. You are doing so good, even in the face of fear, you stuck by your
quit and your boy. You're so close to your MMM isn't it? I get mixed up on
the acronyms, LOL.

Congrats on your new bundle of joy. Pretty soon he'll be up running around as
big as he is, geesh! Cool name too.

One month, one week, five days, 21 hours, 37 minutes and 30 seconds. 838
cigarettes not smoked, saving $167.18. Life saved: 2 days, 21 hours, 50
minutes.

Me too. I talked to my daughter about quitting last night and realized
she is destined to make the same mistakes I made.

Congratulations, Maude, on the birth of a healthy, big, grandson.

This event has particular meaning to me as my oldest son had his first child, a
healthy daughter, Lauren, a month ago this past Sunday. My younger son is a
week late on having his second child. Babies everywhere! Lol

One thing you said that really struck me was that your sons picked up the
smoking habit while mine, thank god, never even experimented as far as I know.
They were always on my case to stop - wish I had - tried a few times,
especially after I left their father who got me hooked on smoking. Of course, I
grew up with smoking parents, relatives, etc. I am so happy to see the tide has
turned and smoking is now frowned upon.
But it is a curious thing that 2 sons smoked and 2 didn't. If we the answer to
that riddle, it might help someone. I'll try to remember to ask them when I see
them, at last, in July.
It's lovely that your family isn't that far away. Mine are literally 3,000
miles away. If I go in July, it will be a little over 3 yrs since I saw them or
my wee grandson.
Again, congratulations on the birth of a bonny wee bairn!! :-)

If they are coming up behind you, always pull to
the right
(hence the motto...pull to the right for
sirens and lights) ...and never...ever,
just hit your brakes and stop...always make an
attempt
to move to the right(signal first), unless on the
rare
occasion they are coming up on your right side,
then keep
driving in your lane....(We are trained to drive
on the left, however, traffic problems and other
factors
may force us to drive on the right if nec.)

Turning left onto a street and moving left are 2
different things! :)
Just get outta my way...I don't go lights
and sirens for the fun of it, and actually hate
driving "hot" in Chicago because of the
overload of idiots who don't know how to
drive! Makes my blood pressure spike! lol
I frequently have ideations of smacking every
mirror of every person who moves to the left
when I am trying to get by....sigh....Whoops
there goes another mirror off another car of yet
another idiot who doesn't know the rules of the
road!!!! hehe (I've only taken off one mirror,
and that was many years ago, and by accident.)
