I am home. The grandson is huge - 23", 9+ lbs, big hands, big feet,
big elf ears, and, as the nurses said, "well-endowed"! They had a
rough day where he wouldn't eat and they put him in intensive care for
observation. My son broke down and had a smoke at that point, but he
is the one who will not blow a quit over one cig.
Me, I am so happy to be here, so happy to have the voice back to sing
him the songs I sang my sons, so sorry my husband is not here to meet
his grandson. Don't smoke, guys. Those you leave behind will spend
the rest of their lives crying at happy occasions. Ron would have
loved Aidan.
For those of you with little ones - someday you will feel guilty
because your smoking encouraged your kids to smoke. I feel bad that
mine are struggling because I brought them up to smoke.
Check out the meter! Creeping up to my last ever QOF!
(Thanks, all - it is because of you I can do this!)

Smoking is not the answer. What was the question?

And he is incredibly lucky to have you as his granny!

Me too. I talked to my daughter about quitting last night and realized
she is destined to make the same mistakes I made.

> Yo, Quitters!
This event has particular meaning to me as my oldest son had his first child, a
healthy daughter, Lauren, a month ago this past Sunday. My younger son is a
week late on having his second child. Babies everywhere! Lol
One thing you said that really struck me was that your sons picked up the
smoking habit while mine, thank god, never even experimented as far as I know.
They were always on my case to stop - wish I had - tried a few times,
especially after I left their father who got me hooked on smoking. Of course, I
grew up with smoking parents, relatives, etc. I am so happy to see the tide has
turned and smoking is now frowned upon.
But it is a curious thing that 2 sons smoked and 2 didn't. If we the answer to
that riddle, it might help someone. I'll try to remember to ask them when I see
them, at last, in July.
It's lovely that your family isn't that far away. Mine are literally 3,000
miles away. If I go in July, it will be a little over 3 yrs since I saw them or
my wee grandson.
Again, congratulations on the birth of a bonny wee bairn!! :-)
