I could give a shit anyway. Pardon my cynicism, but did this big event
ever provably do anything to help anyone quite smoking?

Maybe. Just asking. But I don't find it interesting.

Undoubtedly someone has quit because of this, but I think the value is
in putting out the message to everyone that Quitting *IS* an option.
I know when I smoked I used to make fun of this program and now that I
am smober it has no real meaning but still, it might help someone and
that is what matters.

We have something similar in the UK on Ash Wednesday where they ask
smokers try not smoke that day - I used to be determined to smoke more
in my stupid younger days but it makes smokers think at least some ...

Well, Karen, we usually do our Conga on Friday, but every time we post
we can Conga if we add our meter to the post so I personally so no
trouble in a Conga for that day...
