Giorgio Moroder Reach Out Lyrics:
Reach out
reach out for the medal

Reach out
reach out for the gold.
Come play to win
never give in

The time is right
for you to come and
make your stand.

Reach out
reach out

You now hold the
future in your hand

You have come from
everywhere across
the land.
The stars are shining bright
make it yours tonight

You know every wish
you have's at your
command.

Reach out
Reach out for the medal
Reach out
Reach out for the gold

Additionally I'm reminded of that game we would
play here in trying to guess a bands name
after hearing just a snippet of a song.
Are we still doing that occasionally?
Who's in charge of those?

We were playin a bit with that last nite
in the chat room trying to be the first
to name the band.
It was fun!
I kicked Max's butt too. :p

Hey Carmen. Not trying to be funny ... this really *is* my stop-smoking

Ian, if you equate getting smober with music like that, I can see why
you can never get to first base. You need to work to find a different
focus on what being smober means to you as being smober is not painful
but a joy. Read the posts here and you see that over and over even
when we have a rough spot and we do, we keep on kicking butt.

You *CAN* do this!

I'm doin' it, man. As of twelve minutes ago. Will look for a new quit song,
one that is ... serene. A little night music might do it. I have that, as
well.

Hope you're doin' good.

I agree with Mike, maybe finding a song that is optimistic can help
you to cope better. plus this song will by no means get you relaxed.
It made me hyper just listening to it. (pls don't take it as an
offence). I am just one of those people who don't know how to relax,
but I know that certain music make me hyper and I would think it
applies to you too.

Well, if a song expresses how I feel, I identify with it. But I'll change
it, and try to steer things in a new direction.

It had never struck this old weirdo that quitting could be a joy. I suppose
it could be, to realize just how healthy it is, to think about the value of
life, and stop focusing on ways to throw that life away.

Still, that song is how I feel right now. :-(

Kicking butt for 34 minutes.

LOL. Oh yeah, I know. It's supposed to be. :-) I've since replaced it with
a totally different song. Well, "since" being in the last minute or so.

I guarantee that this new song is the ne plus ultra of cool quitting music.
Or something.

Kicking butt for three and a half hours,

Ian there is nothing wrong with the song. If thats the way how you
feel so be it. I use songs too, to express how I feel. My favorite is
from Simple Plan "Welcome to my life" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I04W2fE08gQ
and listen to it when I am in a lauzy mood. but I learned that
listening to it when I feel like smoking isnt' very helpful. so I had
to find something more positvie. hence my new quit song.

and yes not smoking can be a joy too, No one ever said quitting is
easy but it can be joyful. You just have to find what makes you happy
and that is difficult being a BP, but smoking or not that doesn't make
a difference.

For me not smoking means being able to be here, it means to have
friends, it means to be able to chat and have fun. And that means a
lot to me. I am also saving every week $20 (thats what it cost me
would I smoke) to go on a trip in February. The thought of this trip
gives me joy and makes me happy.

I still love my trekkie quit song I posted in my OF speech

It's been a long road
Getting' from there to here
It's been a long time
But my time is finally near

And I will see my dream come alive at last
I will touch the sky
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No they're not gonna hold me back

'Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith, I've got faith, faith of the heart

"My Pink Half Of The Drainpipe", by the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band.
Listen closely, read the lyrics, and smoking is the last thing you'll think
about.
