The politics of power and Gender Identity Disorder

This has nothing to do about the current positions of politicians or
political parties. It's an overview of the politics involved in the medical,
social and political spheres when it comes to dealing with the issue of
treating gender identity disorders and transsexuality.
Power failure reveals another high-tech privacy leak

A lot of people are using their cell phones as their main phone line. The
great thing about that is you no longer have to pay for an "unlisted number"
- it's not listed in the phone book. But now there's yet another way around
that.
Educating moments

She said "Well, I guess I've never met one of those". I turned in my seat,
looked her in the eye and said "Well, now you have - and by the way,
"trannie" is not a term you use in describing people like me""

About TransBoutique: transboutique.com is a transgender/transsexual support
forum that is also dedicated to educating the general public on issues
regarding gender roles and identities, to supportive discussions of people
who find they don't fit in the "binary gender model", as well as a place
where their friends, family, co-workers, teachers, parents, spouses, and
children and ask questions and hopefully find a few answers.
transboutique.com is powered by your story submissions and comments.
A few suggestions:
1. The font color for the phrase at the top of the page, "support forum
catering to the transgendered and transsexual communties" is white
which is on a gray background. Change the text color to something that
provides more contrast so as to be more easily read. Also: ,
"communties" is misspelled.
2. Regarding the naked man-woman graphic . I gather that you like this
because you use it frequently on the front page of your site - perhaps
you are considering using this for a logo? I would urge you to give
this further thought. The effect of the graphic is to put someone's
naked crotch right in your face. It's somewhat uncomfortable in my
estimation and I think it might be a turn-off to many new prospective
readers. I might suggest using a similar graphic that is just from the
waist up or just photoshopping out everything from the waist down
perhaps.
3. Regarding Comments. Mre space between each comment. In the current
format they run together and are somewhat hard to distinguish. Also
consider putting the time/date of each comment in a constant place
(like top left of each comment) so that users can easily scan comments
to see just today's comments for instance. Not so necessary now
because usage is light but this will be vital as your readership anf
number of comments goes up
The Site events should be in descending chronological order rather than
ascending . People generally want to go to the latest items first.
Three months from now , few will be interested in seeing "week in
review" items for January - and fewer still will scroll down to get the
the current "week in review item"
