Hi there,

I am a 34 year old male who developed P on my Penis (Head only) - I can find
a lot of items on the Web about regular P, but not on the Penis.

I used to use a Cream from Germany, but cannot remember the name of it, BUT
it cleared it up within 2 days.(made a mess of my underwear though...)

Now, I saw a Dermatologist who actually told me what it was and he put me on
DesOwen, which doesn't do anything for it but making my Penis sore....

Anyone has any Ideas that might help me out???

Thanks,

Roland

Slightly OT here, as I don't have the same problem as Roland, but - David
what's this Curatoderm? I notice you have a UK address so it must be
available here. The only steroid I use now is Eumovate (on my face) and I'd
like to find an alternative.

Can you let me know?

Terry.

My wife and I are really appreciative about you responses.

Curatoderm is the brand name of a tacalcitol-based cream, I believe.
Tacalcitol is another vitamin-D derivative, like calcipotriol (Dovonex - er,
that'd be Daivonex on your side of the pond, and possibly Psorcutan
in Germany).

Curatoderm ointment contains the Vitamin D analogue Tacalcitol, which is
similar in action to Dovonex (calipotriol) but doesn't irritate the skin
in those sensitive areas as Dovonex can. It also only has to be applied
once daily. Unlike Dovonex though, it cannot be used in conjunction
with UVB (so the data sheet says) as I think UVB breaks down the
tacalcitol.

It is available on NHS. My GP is very good and lets me have virtually
topicals I want to treat my P. I prefer Dovonex cream as it is less
messy, but for my one-eyed trouser snake I'll use Curatoderm.

Roland,
I have had a similar problem. I have done something which seems to
work for me, but I won't post it publically, because I don't feel that
it's appropriate for this forum. Not that it's "bad" or secret, in
any way, it's just a private thing (and a little embarassing to post
in public) that I don't wish to discuss in public. If you reply to me
by email (I use my real email address in my posts) I will be happy to
describe in detail what I am doing to help my situation.

Here's what Dr. Joe (a dermatologist in Kentucky) has to say about it

this link isn't too long):

Thanks David - sounds like just what I need. I also have a very good GP, and
when I get back from my impending holiday I'll be after some. Many thanks
(UK readers note: get a good GP!)

Trimovate worked for me too, but I had to keep using it - it would clear
up after a few days but then come back again a week or two later.
Whereas the Exorex, for me, was a permanent cure.

Great colour that Trimovate has though (bright yellow) - useful if you
want to attract attention to yourself in those discos with the ultra
violet lights - just whip your dick out and hear those girls scream!

Is it possible to buy Exorex over the counter or do you need a prescription?

Thanks

Over the counter - mine's a 250ml bottle of the Lotion (they also do a
cream, but I gather that its mainly just a moisturiser) - it was quite
expensive but I use it on my elbows every day and its cleared 95% of the
P there, and the remaining 5% would probably go too if I could be
bothered to put it on more than once a day. I'm only about half way
through the bottle and I bought it last August.

It's the old story is it not ... something works wonders for one has
adverse or no effect on others. My D prescribed Locoid which works
brilliantly and never needed it for ages - thank god!! These days the p
in that area seems to have decided not to bother me and looked elsewhere
on my body.
Now what's this about the disco and UV lights then?? LOL

The pharmacy usually keeps it behind the counter, probably because its so expensive. But no prescription needed

[Ladies sensitive to guy talk may wanna click ahead to the next posting...]

I had this problem too (P on the P)...

This might sound nuts, but some guy once recommended in this NG that the
best thing you can do is get some good Intensive Care and
masturbate...gently but regularly. Keeps the skin moist, and of course
there are pleasant side effects to 'the treatment'.

My lesions come and go no pun intended, but they seem to stay rather
"dormant" as long as I'm doing 'the treatment'. In other words, I can still
see darker red spots but they don't scale (hey they don't have time to
develop into scales since I'm in there helping 'moisturize' them every day).

Not to mention that prostate health is much enhanced by regular (at least three
times a week) ejacuation!

At least that's why my husband says we have to have sex at least three times a
week....I believe him, oh yes I do!

My prostate has never bothered me one bit so it must be true......:-) Ava

Well I started to use Dematop on my testicals and penis a little over a week
ago. I am very happy (VERY) happy to say my scotum is now smooth as a baby's
bottom.
and the two little res spots on the head of penis are all most totaly gone, and
no itching on my shaft.(life is good)
However I will keep your idea in mind as long as it dosent give me tennis

remember, continual use of steroids will thin the skin. and this is one
area of a man's body where you definitely don't want skin so thin that it
breaks during "use". if your derm/doctor didn't give you that warning when
he prescribed the cream, he did you no favor.

just my $.02
