Manfred,

I'd be more apt to go with resveratrol in the BELOW formula first.

And if i was an obese, smoking psoriatic i would take some low dose
naltrexone
with the same below Dr. Lederman & Dr. Friel formulation.

And if according to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) i had excess
fire in the kidneys
with my psoriasis, i'd take up a form of moving meditation like Qi
Gong.

AS to simply poPPing something in to the oral cavity, I like
www.longevinex.com as their product works and
uPregulates foxo1 genes.

This newest flu virus is very similar to the Avian Flu Virus, perhaps
this antioxidant supplement Dr. Friel describes could be a natural
cure for Swine Flu.

He suggests that a combination of selenium, vitamin E, NAC/
glutathione, resveratrol, and quercetin taken as a preventative
medicine and throughout any infection phase may:

•aid humans infected with H5N1 influenza to survive with a reduced
likelihood of major complications

•provide a relatively low-cost strategy for individuals as well as
government, public-health, medical, health-insurance, and corporate
organizations to prepare more prudently for a swine flu epidemic

•be effective in conjunction with the H1N1 swine flu vaccine and anti-
viral treatments, and should be tested as such.

Annateresa Palamara's study went even further. They tested the
influenza virus in a petri dish as well as in mice. In the petri dish,
researchers found that resveratrol administered as late as 3 hours
after being infected stopped virus cell reproduction by 90%. The level
of virus found in the lungs of the mice after 6 days was 98% lower in
treated mice than in the placebo group.

Like Howard Friel, Ms. Palamara "For these reasons, RV merits further
investigation as a potential weapon for combating the growing threat
of influenza (i.e. the H1N1 swine flu epidemic)."

FoxO1 and HNF-4 are involved in regulation of hepatic glucokinase gene
expression by resveratrol.
Ganjam GK, Dimova EY, Unterman TG, Kietzmann T.

Faculty of Chemistry, Department of Biochemistry, University of
Kaiserslautern, D-67663 Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Resveratrol, a polyphenol derived from grapes, exerts important
effects on glucose and lipid metabolism, yet detailed mechanisms
mediating these effects remain unknown. The liver plays a central role
in energy homeostasis, and glucokinase (GK) is a key enzyme involved
in glucose utilization. Resveratrol activates SIRT1 (sirtuin 1), which
promotes deacetylation of the forkhead transcription factor FoxO1.
Previously, we reported that FoxO1 can suppress and that HNF-4 can
stimulate GK expression in the liver. Here, we examined the role of
FoxO1 and HNF-4 in mediating resveratrol effects on liver GK
expression. Resveratrol suppressed hepatic GK expression in vivo and
in isolated hepatocytes, and knocking down FoxO1 with shRNAs disrupted
this effect. Reporter gene, gel shift, supershift assay, and chromatin
immunoprecipitation studies show that FoxO1 binds to the GK promoter
and that the interplay between FoxO1 and HNF-4 within the GK promoter
is essential for mediating the effects of resveratrol. Resveratrol
promotes deacetylation of FoxO1 and enhances its recruitment to the
FoxO-binding element. Conversely, resveratrol suppresses recruitment
of HNF-4 to its binding site, and knockdown of FoxO1 blocks this
effect of resveratrol. Coprecipitation and chromatin
immunoprecipitation studies show that resveratrol enhances interaction
between FoxO1 and HNF-4, reduces binding of HNF-4 to its own site, and
promotes its recruitment to the FoxO site in a FoxO1-dependent manner.
These results provide the first evidence that resveratrol represses GK
expression via FoxO1 and that the interaction between FoxO1 and HNF-4
contributes to these effects of resveratrol.

A nutritional supplement formula for influenza A (H5N1) infection in
humans.
Friel H, Lederman H.

howar...@verizon.net

By early February 2006, the World Health Organization had reported 165
human cases of H5N1 influenza since December 2003, with 88 fatalities.
However, the avian H5N1 influenza virus apparently is not yet
efficiently transmitted between humans. Though a near-term possibility
of a global H5N1 influenza pandemic remains, currently there is no
vaccine or anti-viral drug that is proven to be safe and effective in
preventing or treating H5N1 influenza in humans. There is thus a
compelling public interest in developing alternative prophylaxis and
treatment strategies for H5N1 influenza, which would need to address
the complex pathogenesis of H5N1 influenza that is responsible for its
apparently unusually high virulence. The authors present here a
significant body of medical and scientific evidence to support the
prophylactic use of a carefully designed nutritional supplement
formulation that may antagonize the major pathogenic processes of H5N1
influenza in humans. Through several independently-mediated
mechanisms, the formulations may: (a) degrade H5N1 virulence by
directly affecting the virus itself, (b) inhibit H5N1 viral
replication by maintaining cellular redox equilibrium in host cells,
(c) inhibit H5N1 replication by a blockade of the nuclear-cytoplasmic
translocation of the viral ribonucleoproteins and reduced expression
of late viral proteins related to the inhibition of protein kinase C
activity and its dependent pathways, (d) down-regulate activation and
proliferation of proinflammatory cytokines in respiratory epithelial
cells and macrophages that are implicated in the pathogenesis of H5N1
influenza, and (e) protect the lungs and other vital organs from
virus- and cytokine-induced oxidative stress by supplying and
maintaining sufficient levels of exogenous and endogenous
antioxidants. Key mediators in these processes include
_________selenium, vitamin E, NAC/glutathione, resveratrol, and
quercetin._________ Taken prophylactically, and throughout the
duration and recovery of an H5N1 infection, the nutritional supplement
formula may aid humans infected with H5N1 influenza to survive with a
reduced likelihood of major complications, and may provide a
relatively low-cost strategy for individuals as well as government,
public-health, medical, health-insurance, and corporate organizations
to prepare more prudently for an H5N1 pandemic. Some evidence also
indicates that the supplement formulation may be effective as an
adjunctive to H5N1 vaccine and anti-viral treatments, and should be
tested as such.

How many times have i said to take some NAC?

I'm going to do another post on NAC for tomorrow. :)

There are also theoretical issues concerning the impact of COX-1
mediating reduction in prostaglandin and increased cytokine production
that might have some negative consequences for respiratory
inflammation. In conclusion, further consideration should be given to
exploring the actions of these anti-inflammatory agents to control the
respiratory inflammatory in influenza infections which can have
serious consequences for the outcome of the infection.

That is just remarkable!

Of course it's not a one-time thing, you have to keep
taking it. So, do they ever get the flu, in India?

J,

You want remarks on remarkability?

All those left wing morons (similar to psor morons
who keep their buggy whips visible after a few decades
of automotive acheivement that ultimately leads to
democrap morons gaming CO2 via cap and trade or
crap and TAX right after they game your tax dollars
for your VERY HEALTH and that leads to TNF for
psoriasis treatment? I don't think so if rahm emanuel and
deep dish pizza has a word which goes like let
them flakes flake, it ain't gonna kill them and we
don't give a penny for psychoneuroimmunological components
that only reside in your brains from a little rash..)
who HATED Bush & should get your psor skin and that
would put a look of disgust on their countenance when
they look at themselves in the mirror....

And a look of aPProval on some visage sPying
the wild blue yonder?

What is remarkable is PC.

PC... psor CLEAR...ain't politically correct.

OH WAIT.

WE need to work with labor unions to create jobs.

That's what our community organizer prez said. LOL

What a dope...

selling hope with OUR money and he fiddles on date
night and the golf course or B ball court or in front
of the telepromter...looking like a smug thug FDR II...

Talk is cheap... action SPEAKs volumes.

OH WAIT...

The last two or three test posts have...
Added the psychoneuroimmunological components?
And NOW i'm covered in psoriasis.... again.

DAmn... i new it was to good to be true.

Should i pull a cruiser with arginine and NO (nitric oxide)
in the mapk pathway with c-jun and gloom?

Or do I test l. plantarum for psorisais?

Will JRStern help me?

Will i have to go to LA to convince him?

I will drive to LA without my buggy whip or
TNF bio iLL logicals and show him i've got
skin in the psor game...

Will he let me?

Will he make a billion bucks shorting big pharma?

randall... i don't know the future beyond my own skin...
