Hi all. Well, I'm home from work today. I'll be sound asleep as soon as
the benadryl kicks in I'm sure. I've got a rash, and my mouth is full of
yucky sores. Bleah. I have to go for blood work tomorrow, cause my
p-doc thinks the mouth sores might be caused by a low white count or
something. But, I'm off lamictal for good now. Sigh. I was so hoping to
get it back on board. I thought for sure, getting my thyroid back to
speed and then getting the lamictal on board would make things way
better. But, no such luck. Well, at least not on the lamictal front.

I did get to talk to my p-doc though. Not exactly how I planned it.
She's trying to keep me out of the E.R., an off of prednisone. I do have
some Prednisone on hand, that she ordered in case something happens,
but because it messes with blood sugar, she really doesn't want me
taking it. So, we're hoping the benadryl does the trick. I'll talk to
her again Monday morning, unless things get worse in which case I'll
call her asap.

Well, at least I get to sleep through the day. And, if I have to miss
work, today is a really good day to do so since I actually had full
coverage in my department not including myself. I was hoping to use
the extra people to get a ton of stuff done, but I guess that won't happen.

Sigh.

I'm so sorry, Emily. I know how much you'd hoped for a good
outcome with the Lamictal. Maybe working out your thyroid will
do you a world of good. As I've said, they've had me slightly
hyperthyroid for awhile because sometimes that will help
depression. Not good for bones, so I had a bone density scan
so we could follow it. It turned out to help me a little, but
not enough to continue on, besides which it was time to go
back on the MAOI, which has been my savior, at least most of
the time.

When will you see your endocrinologist? Soon, I hope!

Hey. I saw my endo on the 18th, and thats when they did a routine
thyroid draw--it turned out low, so they upped my meds. I get another
blood draw six weeks from when the meds were upped, to see if it's
helping, or if they need to up it more. I'm guessing it will be fine in
six weeks, at least I hope so. It's been about three years since the
ablation now, and it should be mostly stable at this point. I know it
went low very shortly after the ablation, and we ramped me up to a
decent thyroid dose at that point. About a year ago, I was low again,
and my dose was increased, which seemed to do the trick. So, I think
one increase ought to work this time too.
