Hey Guys and Gals (or Gals and Guys),

Hoping all are managing this terrible affliction where we are feeling more well. Most times my appetite is less than what it should be. But rather than loading my plate, I take less and have six mini-meals rather than the standard three. That's why I like buffets where unlike most who go hog wild and fill their plates to beyond capacity, I take as little as I want and take seconds if I so desire. Believe it or not, but I'm not ashamed to order from the childrens menu since the portions are more in keeping with my appetite level. Some look at me funny, but many senior citizens do the same thing. Let 'em laugh, but I have the last laugh. Not many of us can fit into our service uniforms. But even though I got out of the Navy close to forty five years ago, I can still fit into my tailor made dress blue Donald Duck suit. 8-)

Hey Bob, doing pretty well here. Most of my complaints these days are
non-SD related.
Good for you in finding out what works. I takes a med that requires
no food 2 hours before taking, and 1 hour after. I take that twice a
day, so no room for snacks. It's a struggle to not overeat, but
feeling terrible is a good incentive to push the plate back.
And my weight is down where it should be. So I guess I've figured out
what works for me too.
I'm jealous of your duck suit though! ;-)

Cheers,

Dave

Good to hear from you, Dave. All is well here thus far with my hope that you and all who frequent this group are well.

Have a crazy day ahead of me where one of my Navy Band fellow trumpet players is coming to call. I'm sure that part of the day will be a four hour mutual trumpet lesson after we do some herbal intoxicants and step out for a deadly meal. God help him if I can get him to my pool table after we return. Trumpet players don't have a lot of bread to lose and I plan to clean him out. 8-)

Here's something interesting about Joe and myself which hopefully calls for some input from the 'members'.

Joe's twin sister has CREST and Joe has an overactive thyroid. Ironically, as well as me having CREST, my younger daughter has an overactive thyroid. I wonder if this is a common happenstance that is based on a genetic thing. Speaking of my case, a doctor once told me that the Raynaud's part of CREST is kidney related. Again, it's ironic that my brother had a serious kidney ailment when he was young and almost died because of it. As well, my Dad's sister was born with three kidneys, one that was a dud and the other two functional. Enquiring minds wanna know!

No one in my family (that I'm aware of) has any kidney or thyroid
problems. My daughter had hodgkin's, and the radiation damaged her
thyroid, but that doesn't count. My uncle had MS. I think some
distant great aunt had lupis. So I'm no help. ;-)
