Try to calm down...these are just your thoughts!
...why suddenly are your thoughts so powerful and real seeming and fear
filled. Good question. The skitz trip does not exist outside of the
west..insead such subjects tend to become become holy
people...channelling auspicious consciousness and reality to the
masses...(yes the christian con trick says only jesus can do this, but
in India there are millions of saints)
Urgh its a difficult one anyway in this situation when one is losing it
for the first time, because regardless of the cause, here one is,
losing grip on reality real time, in the end I lost control of my head
trip and the trip was contained...but like I said, I'm sure the cause
of this sort opf trip is society 'programming' because, again, this
'disease' only exists in the west...it doesn't really exist that is to
say it is created by the western senario.
Basically your brain is trying to open up to everything, but this is
happening in a fear based way whicvh is why your thoughts are turning
into 'voices' that are fearful and outside of you seeming. They are not
really they are just your thoughts. the brain is incredibly powerful,
for better or worst, so in the correct set and setting...i.e. eastern
and tribal society you would not have fearful visions etc but instead
very powerful positive visons of sharing and intercommunla peacful
consciousness etc that you would as a tribal witch type thing, channel
to the wider community.
So what we have here in the west is an implosion, a negative version of
this.
This is 10 years realisation by the way...it was 10/12 years ago that I
experienced the pyscriatric trip.
Again its not some sort of permanent 'disease'...its just a 'bad trip'
(drug involvment or otherwise), that you can easily transcend.
Basically it is actually a state of mind...but because western society
is so strait...paranoid....of hippyness, weirdness, freedom, the
'opening out' of consciousness happens very ofetn in a frightening way,
You must be contained in a fearful ego (ultimately), be afraid of
death, the authorities.
Really, what you are experiencing is a negative version of a saint's
supernatural trip!
(and you must be permanently contained and slotted into the money game)
Do not tell a pyscriatrist any of this if you can help it , espectially
anyone connected to government because otherwise you will have an
albertross around your neck for the rest of your natural life that you
can only really let go of if you emigrate...they were planning on
putting medical records onto the planned ID cards here in the UK,
fortunatlyt the little facist creep Bliar has been throughly
encircled...because this would be a a very very (perverted) joy for
North wales police, who have been on my case since they sussed out
where I was living?
Think this is disease?..bad luck....for (UK) 'new age traveller peace
convoy' this is a very very real happening...constant harrasment,
constant abuse, constant agent provacation from these perverted facsist
fildth. (the 'force'..the british state)...harrasment designed to try
and separate the subject from the people, and to try and break and
unbalance and send them skitz, and they fucking well know it.
Generally the pyscriatric trip is also fascism actually, thus why we
have as a percentage higher levels of black skitzo's...is this because
these people have genetic disadvantage?...so as you can see horrific
racism.

Don't give up! If your doctor hasn't responded yet, call him/her every
30 minutes. The last time I was having a bad time and got no response
I got so mad I walked into my doctors office and demanded to see him.
It worked. Not that I would recogmend it always, but as a last resort
it may come in handy.
As with any advice that I give, it is my personal opinion. Take it for
what it is worth. If it helps great, if not, I am sorry I wasted your
time.

Amdo,
I hate to burst in on your bubble, but this disease exists in every
civilized country in the world. It even exists in many third world
countries. It is in Asia. It is in the Philippines (3rd world).
Just because you don't hear about it every day in these countries,
doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The rate of incidence is still 1-2% in
every country across the globe. This is not merely 'programming' from
the west. We may have a bunch of ill people which the world hears
about, but then again, we are generally talked about far more often
than other countries. In some other countries, the ill are usually
locked away due to family shame or embarrassment.

you have the job, and probably want to keep it. especially if ssa is
dancing around. while i don't know the rules regarding ssa and
working while waiting to be "accepted", i would recommend talking to
your boss. Again, as you have the job and may wish to keep it, this
can only help them understand your reasons for not showing up and
taking leave of absence. this is just a courtesy to them, but there's
more...
regarding ssa "again", check out alt.social-security-disability. There
is a gentleman there by the name of Jack who worked for ssa (with his
wife) for 30 years. he is the resident expert. and if you want to
get accepted by ssa, you need to be asking questions of this guy! you
could even be hurting your application by continuing to work as you
are at present!
talk to your boss, but go to alt.social-security-disability first, and
ask some of the more burning/important questions regarding your ssa
application. you don't want to be slamming yourself in the foot if
you can keep from it. :-)
best regards,
bb,
Although i do not agree with everything King Amdo says, i have to say that
what you purport here is more psychiatric propaganda that has little basis
in reality.
The World Health Organization study from which the bullshit worldwide
incident rate for schizophrenia of 1% was originally obtained could only
arrive at this figure by including as "schizophrenia" in undeveloped
countries what would normally be classified in the West as "atypical
psychoses" - in other words, cases that do not actually meet the diagnostic
criteria for schizophrenia at all. A curious decision indeed for
researchers who claimed to be studying the global incidence rate of
schizophrenia!
Closer examination of the results of the WHO study reveal that, in
undeveloped countries, the prevalence of short-term "reactive" psychoses -
followed by spontaneous remission without any further episodes (which are
normally diagnosed as "atypical" psychotic disorders in the West) - was 1%
in the population - and were duly diagnosed as cases of "schizophrenia"
according to the unique diagnostic criteria of this particular study. The
chronic features of specifically schizophrenic-type conditions, meanwhile,
were absent in the population almost altogether.
In the West, by contrast, this picture is exactly reversed - chronic,
peculiarly schizophrenic conditions are the norm, so to speak - having, on
average, the 1% lifetime incidence rate we hear so much about - whereas the
atypical psychotic disorders are so rare as to be freakish (hence the name
"atypical").
Even then, the 1% figure in the West is not evenly distributed amongst all
populations. It has been reliably demonstrated that the incidence rate for
schizophrenic diagnosis is higher in urban, inner city environments than it
is, say, in middle-class suburban ones. Being of a lower socio-economic
status carries a higher risk of acquiring a schizophrenic diagnosis.
Schizophrenic conditions are not to be found equally among all populations.
Furthermore, researchers have found that, in the pages of the prototypical
diagnostic manuals written hundreds of years ago, descriptions of chronic
schizophrenic-type conditions do not make an appearance until around the
19th Century. Until then, like in the undeveloped countries today, the
accounts given of psychotic disorders conformed far more closely to that of
the atypical psychotic conditions, lacking altogether such characteristic
aspects of schizophrenic conditions.
Every piece of evidence points to the conclusion that schizophrenia is a
condition peculiar to modern Occidental culture. The doctored WHO results -
pun intended - have been sezied on and flouted so readily by the Western
medical community only because they conform to certain unfounded assumptions
the medical model has imposed on their conceptualization - the very reason,
one suspects, the diagnostic criteria in the WHO study were relaxed so
scandalously in the first place.
> In some other countries, the ill are usually locked away due to

Er, dude, that's exactly what happens in this culture. That's the whole
rationale of the locked ward.
By contrast, in developing countries, the social factor is much more
positive than in fact is the case in the West. In this connection, Louis
Sass highlights, in particular,
"the effect of extended families and small communities, which are more
supportive of deviant members; the lack of specialized work roles and
competitive expectations; the absence of stigmatization of mental illness in
many traditional societies (which lack or deemphasize the disease concept,
ascribing many mental - as well as physical - disorders to supernatural
forces rather than to attributes of the individual); the practise of healing
rituals and ceremonies designed to reintegrate the disturbed individual back
into the group; or (on a more general level) the absence of the 'complex,
conflicting, and potentially disorientating cognitive requirements'
characteristic of more technologically sophisticated societies."
Such factors seem much more likely to invite a benign outcome than the
attitudes/treatments meted out over here.

I would like to view this WHO Study. Where did you see it, and where
can I get a copy?
bb,
Much of what i say in the previous post - including the critique of the WHO
studies (there are two) - is taken from Louis Sass's consideration of the
cross-cultural dimension of schizophrenia in 'Madness and Modernism' (1992).
In addition to the results of the WHO studies, he presents several other
strands of evidence - which i obviously do have not room to reproduce in
their entirety here on usenet - undermining the oft-quoted 'statistic' that
schizophrenia is present equally in all the countries of the world. Taken
together, they represent to my mind an overwhelming attack on this commonly
held - and seemingly baseless - assumption (it should be noted, however,
that 'Madness and Modernism' is not concerned primarily with the
cross-cultural aspect of schizophrenia).
The WHO studies, if you are interested in trying to track them down for
yourself, are called the International Pilot Sudy and the Determinants of
Outcome Study.
