While switching from Advast to both Bitdefender & Avira (which BTW
apparently strickly fulfills it's obligations under Articles 13-14 of the
European General Data Protection Regulation, by prividing a EULA no-one
ever reads or understands before hitting "ACCEPT"). Along with fiddling
around with Spybot S&D for the first time in years (with a badly re-
designed GUI), and giving ZoneAlarm a try over Comodo; I was thinking...

CIVILIAN DRONE TECHNOLOGY needs to be banned! When I was living in Toronto,
and being ENDLESSLY followed around by the Men In Black; one time while
walking alone in the wooded area of Ashbridges Bay Park - someone was using
their survelillance UAV to keep me safe (by watching me drink a few beers
and piss on a tree). It got my noggin a pondering 'bout how dangerous these
modern day remote controlled hobby helicopter can be.

Bad actors have already forced entire airports to close for days, by flying
too close to the runway. Even the BRITISH FREAKING MILITARY could *NOT*
shoot the darn thing down, to regain control of their airways. Police may
not even have the ability to trace the location of the pilot in some cases.

Imagine how distructive these devices could be in the wrong hands, like
terrorists or malicious kids! It would not take much effort at all to
weponize these devices and injure members of the public. THESE THINGS (as
cool as they are to play with) ARE EXTREAMLY DANGEROUS.

I've never owned or played with one; but I used to watch a hobbyist doing
tricks with his drone, controled via a smart phone. It got me concerned
with the possibility that if the phone was infected with malware - or the
UAV manufacture stopped providing software updates... then there is a
possibility that some screwball in Timbuktu could crash passenger planes
HERE - on our HOME SOIL. (Don't get me started 'bout autonomous vehicles!)

Now it's one thing to fly them next to Windows to catch lovebirds (on
candid camera) in the heat of passion (or me alone rubbing one off while
watching lovebirds on PornHub); it's another thing entirely to fly them
physically into people - who have no way of defending themselves.

There are so many textfiles on bulletin board system (and bomb/poison
building books that Amazon stupidly sells to anyone with a credit card).
That could allow these to become nothing more than high-flying IEDs. Forget
UAV regulation - civilian drone tech needs to be TOTALLY OUTLAWED. Of
course then only governments, militaries and outlaws would have drones.

IIRC even the U.S. Military has had problems with the enemy shooting down
their UAVs; with hostile actors reverse engineering 'em - creating exploits
and turing teh shite back on their adversaries.

It reminds me of that scene in an old Richard Pryor movie:

... God, I think too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I really need to get laid.)
