Does anybody know where I can find information regarding the normal insulin
levels for non-diabetic women? Thanks.

It probably depends on how the lab measures it--did your dr. not tell what was
the normal range for that lab?

It varies from lab to lab, but in general most labs use 20 or less as
normal, although 30 or less isn't uncommon.

With that said, my doctor in particular uses 10 or more to indicate
insulin resistance. My insulin levels range from 4 to 7, but I am on
Metformin anyway and it has helped regulate my cycles and I now ovulate
on my own.

Our lab range is 5-20 and I was 12 on a fsting insulin test. My doc said that a
normal fasting insulin is about 6 or7.

She also uses the fasting insulin levels in correlation with the fasting
glucose levels to determine IR.
