For the last three or four weeks I've had sciatica and back pain. I didn't
think it was going to get worse but it has. Yesterday, I was having real
trouble bending, but straightening up was murder. I thought I was going to
black out on two occasions. Later this morning, I have an appointment to
see the nurse practitioner at my local surgery, but there's no way I'll
make it - even if I ordered a taxi. So I'm going to phone them and cancel
it and ask for a home visit. Now I'm wondering if it doesn't improve soon,
how I'm going to get any shopping in. I should be okay for a couple of days
though.

Thanks, Diane. The guy nextdoor to me is very friendly and I think he will
help me out for a day or two.

Take it easy Zorg. Sounds like you are needing lots of repose and medical
attention. Are you taking anti-inflammatories?
I had awful neck pain last fall and it caused me to black out several times.
Sending empathy.

Thanks, Lisa.

I've just got back from seeing the nurse. Did manage to get there after all.
She has put me on Declofenac and I also picked up some paracetamol while I
was in the pharmacy. I certainly am going to take it easy this weekend.
Don't need to go out until Monday. Hope things will have improved by then.
Thanks for the empathy :)

Here in the states, we have places such as netgrocer.com or what ever it's
called. You can order groceries online.

Do you have anything like that in your area?
Hope you feel better.

We do have them. Tesco and Asda both do it, but I'm not near enough to
either to fall within their catchment. My local Co-op does free home
deliveries from Wednesdays to Saturdays and I intend using them, just a
pity they don't do the online thing.

Am feeling a bit better today, thanks.
