Chronic disease and our churches...stories requested

I found out this past summer that I in fact have lyme. Same old story as I
have been reading about many with this particular disease this past
week...first told it was ms, then fibromyalgia, THEN nope it's really just
(just?) chronic fatigue syndrome. Finally went to an infectious diseases
guy and the FIRST thing he did was the lyme testing..yep! I got it about 4
yrs ago. late stage lyme.
What I am interested in is hearing about how this Chronic disease has
effected peoples relationships in their churches. I know from our own
experience that it really damaged our relationship with ours and a lot of
thing (hurtful things) were said about "what was REALLY wrong with me"
especially when I had to begin to use a wheelchair to come to church.
I would like to hear about not just the bad stories, but the
good/positive ones too..

I am very sorry to hear about how your church treated you. That is simply awful!
I have mg and my church family is very supportive! Many times someone has had to
bring me home because I could not walk or talk and we live 30 minutes away!
They pray for me and do practical things for me and my family. Many times, when
they know I am weak they will bring over dinner or take my children for the night.
I could not make it if it weren't for my church family.
