Hiya guys ...

It's 4:30 in the morning and I can't sleep ... so thought I'd surf a bit.
Was wondering if any of you here paint .... on canvas?
Or do you paint on any other surface, such as wood ... etc?

Do any of you do crafts? If so.... what? Do you make money with painting
or crafts?

Just wondering ....

I'm starting back to painting some ... acrylics on canvas, wood .... or
Masonite. I do mostly abstracts ... but also some expressionism and a bit
of impressionism. I also do small mini 'cat' paintings .... sort of folk
art style.

Hugs,
Dee

I like to paint on canvas, landscapes mostly. I find it really tiring
though because I have a really cheap easel that I need to stand to use,
so I haven't painted in a while. The paint I use is acrylic, easy and
no smells. I've never used oils, but would love to try one day when I
have my own basement to do it in.

I also love to sculpt with clay, but I don't have access to a kiln at
the moment, so I've stopped. It also really tires out my arms and
hands, but the potter's wheel is a blast!

Hope you were able to find some sleep Dee!

Hi Dee:

To me painting is as soothing as it gets. I paint mainly on ceramics.
Basically do detail painting on small items, i.e. small houses, old world
Santas, etc.

I can start a project and get totally lost in it for hours. I have used this
outlet for the wee hours of the mornings I can't sleep, which seems a lot of
us have. I recently painted two penguin Christmas ornaments for my
daughter-in-law.

I don't do other crafts, unless I'm in the mod and I haven't been in the
mood lately.

Good luck on your projects.

Norma

Hey, Sharon, they now have, believe it or not, water soluble oil paint with
no smell. No, don't ask me how they did it . . . I've not tried them but
they take much longer to dry than acrylic so you can blend them easier,
which is acrylic's main drawback; you have to work very fast. The horse with
the blue background on the picture site is a 20" x 24" acrylic & was very
hard to do. Probably about 85 layers in many areas.
