That was amazing. Poor girl, went from being one of the worst days in her
life I'm sure, to probably the best day in her life, all in a drop of a
hat.

Just amazing, innit!

Watched it three times last night, and each time I had such a smile on,
seing hers, that tears of joy would come to my eyes, just for her
videotaped huge smile and her nice laughter, childlike at times:)

And the entire prep it must have required is just out of this world!:)

Glad someone checked it out:), because it is one phenomenal event!

Right after that video, if any man proposes, any woman would tend to look at
him kneeling and go 'Ermmm....Is that it???' LOL:)

But is is so nice to live the surprises one after the other, for what
seems forever, as she lives them live:)

Eleonore, I found this version that has a little more detail and
is better quality. The surprises seem like they're never gonna end.
Just awesome. Put's your faith back in people. They're good after all...

If so, mind adding the link, please?

Yet have not, at a library PC, really seen the complete..um video. Some on my tabletPC, twice..cought not catch that one sort moment where woman changed from the blues to "other."

Got th idea of taking my own picture w tablet, as i see sometimes pix in profiles w person having a pecularly extended.. mandible.
//So pressed cam button a few times. Then wondered about this 'share' business i see printed on about every third button around the internet. ` ` ` :)
Easy as pie.
Am wondering if i want to put it on ASL profile. Seems no one does.

I would not. It could attract people here that have nothing to do here, by
linking you to all your penpals penpals, linking yu to linked and facebook
and all that, and all your friends' friends even if they want
private:(
Nothing stays separate anymore....:(

But as you wish.

Might as well put it on fbook, and chose if private or not, though once
one uses tablet, seems like all goes to hell, i.e. all prvacy buttons
constantly are voided.

Thank you. A helpful post, for sure. !! Re mobile-devices I certainly was aware some settings, some options are no longer available. Had not gotten so far as to tnk about privacy -- aha!

I will not anytime soon do anything re NG profile. But!: My thot would have been pic and then my locale of origin. That being the north-half of Indiana, a geographical/cultural region. I didn't understand about the linking; I certainly would not want my fb acct associated with any other site I'm on. I mean any site w any other site

I saw an article today. In the major New York Times -- about a conference re privacy. Quarrels there/name-calling. Advertizers who are against a "do not track" button being put on Explorer and Firefox browsers, easily visible. Others at the confc -- for example a chap who used to work for the O_ bama govt in an office for privacy -- are saying I think, pay attention to the polls. And allow this as a prominent setting/option if a majority wishes it.

What was discussed at the conference may not, per se, be so exciting. But it indicates, maybe, a growing movement..pertaining to the way some of prefer not to be looked up so easily.

Here's something I noticed yesterday re Linked`In.
For one thing one can put-cursor near, after logging in, one's name in upper right corner of screen -- and a little dropdown appears. "Settings" or "Acct" is there. Next, 'Cancel My [damn! -ed,lol] Account.' ` ` ` Linked`In lists for me a few dozen ppl I might know and whom I possibly want to link with. I do know 1/5 of those ppl. Some vaguely, 3 at least who have messed over friends of mine, and 1 (one) a nice person.

One is head of a department which concerns street traffic. I wrote him a letter once. He replied insultingly. Now Linked'In somehow.... WTF My main support person (library, IT help-desk job) is quitting his gmail, says he stays away from that company when possible. /As I've been doing since March'12. At library i still use 'giggle,' because i am major familiar with it. But at home my tablet has a fixed IP address, i think w some certainty -- and AltaVista i use. Or Bing or AOL search engines.

Prob is, giggle.. seems/ loans its info to ef B eye ( US equivalent to Mou_nties. Am strong member of a certain para-parano/id peace move_ment. As in being in-filtrated. Big Brother plain and simple.

But then since my data plan is with Verizon.. and since Verizon and giggle are totally tied together. <sigh> Can't get get away from giggle completely.

. / Image storage on Internet. Photographs essentially, :
Today I opened an acct w ` I m a g e s h a c k ` , an Internet service. I had read a review comparing four services. A Photobucket account account, once, i opened. Two years ago. However i did not happen upon a way to get pix from my regular camera...up.
/And of course now i probably'll be content w the image-quality of my tablet for awhile. Tho the megapixel rating of the camera in it seems week; dunno. And, anyway, can upload from this mobile computer-like do dad. I mean i can do that without three books and four intense consultations. <sigh>

PostScript: Th reason i never got started on fb , to do more than a half doz pix if that... pro'ly was two reasons. a) my camera use is both of landscapes *and* some ppl. Me and eventally some friends; partly/re..me/because i get asked for profile pictures (social-match site and others****, sometimes i decide its okay to have a pic up...) *and* b) a trust for fb i dont have any more than those others here;I just don't trust that they wont Change -- and i wont notice or change and i'll have to learn a bunch of new stuff..to continue having a privacy. Or even that their privacy system is *learnable*! in the time Im willing to devote. , , So those reasons, for never hazarding to start there at fb. (Pls forgive my English.)
**** nnn Penpal-search site. About which i will post paragraphs very soon.

A moment ago I downloaded th app for my image-storage site. (Imageshack.)
And my userID on it is L_Gershwin
Reason i choose this'n over some others. According to the review
Photobucket may not be up to snuff`image quality.
Flickr I thought and that's just me<tm> , being more popular, might cater to an-often-careless, or short of time clientelle. Lesser-known services might have fewer shortcuts, might be more willing to allow cropping and brightness-adjusting, fiddling with th colour contrast. Tho the latter ya' pro'ly ought not be careless with.

Will check what 'priviledges' controls are to be found with the Imageshack. ` ` Privile.. being file access concern in Unix operating system (for medium or big computers) saying who can and who cannot open a file. // I never was interested enough in fb's privacy controls -- in most areas anyway -- to work at it, to study at it. Or study *them.* ;-)
My present situation, especially ASL/here tho also with friends where i used to live, gives me a clearer, ah, goal -- for learning something on privacy in-re Internet-stored pictures. Thanks for getting me motivated.

better go, :)

If you do giggle without being logged in any account, then there is no
following unless you have a (more traditio0nal) comemrcial bug, I read.

On tablet, whatever I google i am sure is tracked because dang tablet
keeps all accounts joined. Therefore all thatw as private on pc now is not
one bit due to tablet.

But on pc, so long as not logged in any account, can giggle.

As for their privacy options, no matter who, i am starting to believe that
the mroe you click on them, just like for viris, the more you elt them
know the account is active, if yet there is no other way.

Therefore I dio not use fb to exchange anymore.
Because if all I do is set priovate, the tablet unprivates it *costantly*,
and besides, whoever emails me that is not private feeds them my info,
just like anyone optiong for any application on FB is cionditionally
offering them all their 'friends list and info'. I always rtefused because
of that, if some aps (maybe 2) I had applid to before it became that way
and never had any such thing to do to use them *at the tme*. But the
problem is, they later turn on you, pretty much all of them.

As well, I read an article that saud that giggle paid to get any friend
list that was over 300. Scary:(

Because even if I woudl chose people that woudl only have less than 20
friends, say, they might have a friend who has a friend that has a friend
that has 300 + names. So whoever does not select total privacy -keeping on
their toes because it is very often modified without warning or proper
warning in advance- is then ending up not respecting priovacy of others
just for using those things.

As for giggle, it offered to make public all the posts, prvate or not,
that people wrote, through their search engine. Not ,offeed'' but
consequence I read that coems with their new ways.

On my ya who account, there is now a ya who bar for giggle belonging to Ya
who, workign in conjuntion with giggle.

If i use that one, when logged into account, then know it is tracking. I
then try and keep to non political and borign stuff, AND type in the Ya
who bar 'giggle' dox come, inn hope that all that then can be tracked is
the thing keyed in ya who giggle bar. It then will open the real giggle,
and there i thendo my search, again not very high risk of personal info
gathered by those.

However, I have a problem with their profile: in past, some friends did
theirs and that linked all their friedns....I then am linked tot hem and
their searches as well, if youw ant, where say a securoty check woudl come
over, I might be declare lord knows what for someoen's friend's friend's
friend's friend's list having typed some search or written about Godzilla
who might get vindictive for seing that associated with my name when I
have nothign to do with odzilla or whastever ele anyoen else in friends'
friends' friends friedns write, post or search.

In the end, I hope BBro will end up tripping in the long rope it gives
itself by creating loops of friends' friends' and fries liek those old pc
in initial Star Trek episodes:).
Would serve them well.

Incidentally, I wondered if i coudl ave accidentally messed up gigle way
back when it was shut down a few days. Without meanign to, I mean. After
getting int he giggle place, I typed giggle dog come again, not realizing
I had already typed it, so I made it search its own self, I guess.
I tried it later to see, but all went okay. But that time all froze, and
next thign i knew it had 'crashed'.

The thigns computer dumb living-proof like me can imagine they do by
goofing a search:)

If by reg cameras you mean non digital, only way possible to upload it is
to have it scanned.

If you have no scanner available, ask at library.Maybe they can help out
of simply having one and feeling kind and serviceable.
Maybe they woudl for a low charge.

Some stores or photio places (here, drugstores for soem) can do that for
you as well, i.e. make non-digital on digital so you can upload from there
by pc. Some will even send it to the email address you ask. Beware of their
spam later though:), if they are the type to do that (big photo
stores/chains).
You can have it put on cd or on usb key and take it from there, so long as
you have either pc access at liobrary --or are equipped to load on your
tablet from usb --or cd, but usually not cd for tablets.

Golly; :) :)

Just now most a long msg, so must repeat is essence.

A very stimulating post i jist received here. Th idea of tripping on its (his) own rope, which id not heard before..makes me think of such a large loop or infinite feed-back loop -- makes the machine (system, whatever) stall or overSpped while out of gear. Doing nothing until they shut it off.

I heard rope as a string of unending sharings with no stopping-places..around the globe..and so the macine simply spins, unable to stop and be specific. Cannot load one file.

When i get the library and have a full sized pC, i can go thru the post ive recd here and reply to specific points better.

my best,

Well... I meant by regular cam: non-tablet. I sent to someone an e-mail vey recently; carrying as attachment or attachment-like ..a picture of myself. Pic was taken by pointing tablet at a mirror --->

Yr ago got a larger digital one

After hearing the `shutter` click, i somehow (dont ask me :) got it onto an eMail and sent it.
/ Went to 'Sent' folder and opened the copy of mail there. Sure enough, pic could be opened.

Since, have discovered a control in my camera app (downloaded app of course^) so it seems now i can look at the *front*^^ screen of my tablet, pressing shutter botton..and again load it directly thru tablet-to Web

footnotess ^^ not back side, better, camera.
^ Downloaded free from app store

battery is very lo, here/bettr go

Interesting way of discovery.

btw, if in future, for some reason, you do not mean to send to anyone but want
some pics to keep using the same method, email them to your own self:).
You then can this way until you would know of how to do it otehrwise, keep
the photo file in the email into a folder.

Divide by years?
By persons?
By sub-folders? I.e. take foldersand put them under one same folder.
To do that, just slide folder under one you create or under an empty one
you already have.

You also can change names easily.
On pc, click (when cursor on folder you want to rename); chose 'rename'
option in drop list that then will apear.
Works with files too.

For instance you could keep your pics under one folder with subfolders for
kind of pic or year pic taken;

Another folder for 'papers and docs' with subfolders of what kind of docs
in each subfolder, by group.

One for whatever else you need, recipes is one I have, for instance, or
penpal addresses, never kept under that name for a folder though in case
of intrusion.

Never let your social insurance number on your pc anywhere, btw.

You coudl even have a folder with somethign to help you remember what
folder x is about, what folder y, etc.

As for email folders, I am no expert on those -unless you'd use Outlook.

The folders I fear not remembering location of I put on desktop.
Or the oens i use the most. But it can slow down your pc if you get to
have too many on desktop (screen folders, if you will).

This, on pc, of course. I try and not keep folders on tablet itself.

Well,yes,subfolders R extra good but

Yes folders are extra food oops good, and I'm getting going going with tablet apps, especially NoteEverything, which has sub-sub folders.

All good to read. But still, the folders of kept e-mails were folders within Yahoo. That was what I was thinking of. Now this would be different if I used POP mail (post office protocol).

Yes, I c you're following. And, since I heard something good about Outlook recently, I can consider moving to Outlook.

Now on the one hand if the screen folders are being maintained by some program, that is one thing. But if they just kind of sit there,...
just talked with young librarian (who of course has had several courses which are computer-focused) and he agrees with me.
/If ya' get several programs going, photoshop, word processor, a video game plus browser and ya' don't close any out..that uses up memory -- too much. But..

> This, on pc, of course. I try and not keep folders on tablet itself.

Folders of my own are, for the most part, within my note/memo application. Not on Desktop/Home Screen. (Example BTW of very popular note app is Evernote, icon of Green Elephant.)
/As soon as I finish using that app I go to ApplicationManager and close the app out, to reduce tablet's memory use.

had better get busy,
Hope I didn't sound too opinionated.
