Just now, he managed to get up as ""solid"" as before, i.e. walk around
the kitchen and living, doing a full circle of the forst floor as per hs
habit before asking the door.
I helped him jump the patio step, and then he managed to pe a second time.
Phew. I was fearing his bladder was blocked, cause he had not peed in over
36 hours. That dog has an Olland Bladder;-). Mystery and m,agic.
But he so hates doing his thing in the house, takes pride n being clean,
that for him to be told he could pee in the house and thatwas fine, Lady
would wash it away, did not do.
He asked for treats agin (i.e. to eat soemthing) an hour or so ago. Pooped
twice, so that means things are still working on that side....
The second time he had treats, he chewed them with a happy hungry face,
not as bothered by the bump on hs side...
I so wished he would pee, knowing that his bladder must be so full it
would only make pressure on the tummy, if it was not TE problem to
start with...No urinary function would be a bad bad way to go, and would
have emant easing his pain off by euthanasia...But seems he managed, and
simply, not being strong enough to get up at alll yet, could not get
himself to pee on the floor....
Right now, after thatwas all taken care of, he needs SLEEP and rest. As
much as I try and have him rest, with me watching over him from the couch,
he will NOT sleep as long as he knows I am awake....! Always still giving
more affection than he gets...
When the pain eased off a moment, after he peed, I gently palped the bump
on his side to see if it had gone down. I was extatic: emptying his
bladder allowed it to either go down ORhave more room inside, which would
ease the pressure.
But within like 15 minutes, it was going back up, sweling again....
He looked at me waiting for status news:), and I tiold him that he needed
to pee again another time soon, cause e ahd not in too long, where the pee
now was backed up in his insides, cause it had no where t go in his tummy
when he had too much pee inside. Told him this in words he understood,
erpeating ita few diferent ways, insiting on how important peing was,
important enough that it was okay if he peed in the house caise I knew it
was hard for him to move.
He tried to rest on his left elbow, then the right, over and over for two
hours, obviously not comfortable, but in lesser pain sicne he coudl move,
be it uncomfrtably.
Then he looked at me, and I got the signal from him he wanted help to get
up. I was astonished at how easy he managed to get up and how solidly he
walked this second time....I secured his walk as I always do when he gets
up after he layed down so long, his elgs being asleep at times...
But he did okay...Until he got to the patio door and tripped in the burd
cagestandL(, and fell....
I then promised him that today, I woudl wash all floors and get carpettes
, anti-slipping ones, by the patio door, so he would not slip each time
and fall if he lost balance or tripped...
He peed a few gallons that time;-), by he sound of it. I let him walk
alone in the yard, just watching in case e falls to go help him nback up,
cause he won,t be able to pee if I constantly am by him:). He made it once
around the yard, stopping to pee, and n his way back to the door, stopped
tw steps short, to o weak to go on....He knew I coudl take it from there
and lift him by the shoulders to get his front paws indoors, then help and
lift his rear end to get that part indoors too:).
But once in, contrary to the forst time, he tstayed standing UP, waiting
for me to close the4 screen door and door, and to secure his walk some
more. He then made 4-5 more steps, and I helped to ease off the fall as he
layed down, his legs not supporting him for the last 10 inches or so, as
was before. Old age stuff, that.
He signed for water again, in this way he found to communicate what he
needs and wants.
He wanted up again after a short break, and he walked aroud the kitchen
meaning he wanted FOOD. But I don,t dare give him more at this time. He
ate plenty treats, enough to sustain him with energy without it
overloading his belly....I gave him a ew more treats to keep his stomach
quiet so he woudl sleep, explaining to him no dog food for now, cause
tummy had no room....
Finally he got to his spot again, asked for more water two three times
over 5 minutes, where he knows I will ring him water each time then push
the bowl out of his way...So he does not knock it off or trip in it.
He tried the pillows, but signed eh wanted to try without.
I removed ne...another...and the last. He treied t sleep on thatside, but
after a moment, gave up and signed to please, coudl I help him move....He
wanted to sleep on his other side..the oen with the bump...
I gently moved his rear paws in psition, then shifted the front upwards, t
then gently help his body down to the other side....
Told him he had to sleep now, to rest to get better sme more.
Hgs and kisses and telling him whata super bravest dog in the whole
universe he was, and how much I wuved him, big bestfriendbuddysmartsmartdog.
A f3ew inutes later,. he signed thatwell...On this side, he maybe could
use a pillow to support his shoulders and ehad, so he could stare at me to
see if *I* was resting....Sigh:)
Puffed a pillow, helped his head ans houlders on it and finally he seemed
comfy enough for what eh wanted...
When I was sure he was in a position he felt most comfy in to sleep, I
came upstairs. lse he woudl stare at me all night and day, and not restat
all:).
So now he is ressting, sleeping....Phew...
I'd say his condition is stable at this time, as in not okay, bump still
there and coudl be problematic any minute, or could go down some
more, either to getback to how it was before or to grow again and block
everything.
But in the last hours, it would go up and down, but in its lower level to
call it that, got lower, and less large to in diameter than when I got
home or then last night.
Lad finally behaved after I had it earlier with his intimidation and
threat attempts with his being jalous of the attention EatEat had,
preventing him form moving if he coudl and wanted to r to eat a treat of
drink at all. Pulled him by the skin of the neck to the patio door and got
him out, telling him that dogs thatdid not obey went out. Only allowed
himin after a speach of warnign of my own thatwoudl he do thatagain, he
woudl go out for the night, hwo woul he like that, huh? Huh??
And he behaved and put on his ebstest behavior at long friggen last, were
he even made me laugh so much he would play it nicer than I even woudl ask
him:):) Wish e woudl always be thatw ay, that rascal one. Told Lad that
justas much as he can annoy me attime,s he can make me laugh to death so
funny he can be:).
I know EatEat is okay for an hour or four, maybe, so that makes me brath a
bit btter, and able to take a break....But of course that might change any
minute. For better or for worse....
He is NOT ot of the woods, though.....
Whatever causes this swelling bump is still there and at cause and at play....
I,m so gad I can be home today to watch over him and give him water and
all that as he wants....
And I still can not believe hw incredible it was that he was still alive
when I got home this evening, and that he got better, as relative as the
word needs be read...
Special thnaks here to David and Ghost for their wishes and posts/emails....
It can be astonishingly nice to fnd support in a support ng. Sure is soul
warming, in the middle of a series of challenges that life seems to want
to send since a year now or maybe a bit more...
After a while of repeating one,s own mantras and positive words to
one, sself to keep the chin and smile up, even the best of mantras can
becme used and lose of their brightness and cheer....
It then is more precious than I coudl word and than you coudl imagine when
others then find to give of their own words to boost and support me...
Ot of coruse also helps me betetr help atEat and is prceless in that, too!:)
Much much much thanks and a huge hug to you both.
I can manage sometiems to getto read your missives for those who email,
but hardly ever an get Yahoo to switch to the "reply" page still. In fact
that is worse than before. Takes dozens and dozens of tries here and there
in a few days, and even thenI can,t always get to the reply page.
But when I can get to read yous, at least, that helps tremendously....
So know that you are not ignored nor forgotten. No way!:)
Ad David, know thatI am not ignoring the bday card: it just has not made
it yet;-). Justsaying so so you donlt think I;d be ignoring you...Okay?
Much hugs and thanks, again!

Dang mail system. Speaking of birthday's, I know it has been mentioned
but I don't recall -- how old is ol' EatEat? You must treat your pets
extra special since they live so long. May you also enjoy a long and
happy life as well!
David
Will do.
Before I got upstairs, he saw me go in the kitchen, and as I walked back
to the living, I saw he had stayed with his head up, watching to see if I
was coming back...Not wanting me to leave him....
Told him I would stay with them pets all weekend, not go t work, and
reminded him that if I left the house I would always tell them,
promised, so he could rest knowing I was nearby. I added I would go to
the pc soon, to see if anyone said hi to EatEat...And there you are.
Thanks. Now I can tell him Ollie said hi --and I will add thatOllie thinks
EatEat the nicest bravest good good dog in the universe....
The bump is a bit smaller again tonight. But EatEat is weaker. And at a
point, he had this way....e saw I was standing near him, holding his bowl
of water for him. But instead of drinking, he just very slowly and
tenderly rested his head against my leg, like one would for instance oput
their head on your shoulder...I scartched his cheek, and hestayed there,
with the same sort of gentle pressure, almost wrapping hs neck arounfd my
leg as if to hold me tight or hug me...
His staring at me each time I leave a room and holding his ead up a long
long time to be sure I am not going away, and this movement he had
tonight...It fees at times as if he knew he would not get better and was
tryign to console me ahead of time or to apologize for not being able to
remain with me forever:(.
And like he was also saying he wished so much he could....He had a very
pensive and sad face then....Head down, like one who is sorry...:(...
His trips outdoors are shorter...
His walking around the kitchen and back to the living maybe only once a
day, now.....
And they call for rain all weekend...He could have done without, with his
arthritis, poor old pup.....:(....
He drank a lot, but seems to remain thirsty, needing to drink many times,
fewer sips at a time, but more often and close together, untilhe drank
enough tor est a while...His mouth is dry, his drool thicker showign he is
thirsty easily....
I feel less life in his coat even...Springs back up less than normal...
I coudlsee the arthritis acted up today, and was glad I happened to give
him an aspirin before I left for work...Gave him another tonight....
He had treats, plus milk bones, plus two slices of bread, and ate his
portion of dog food, which I added water to to try and help with the
water/liquid intake...
....
C
That was then...
Now he seems to be "dimmer".......
And more, he seems aware of it too since a few days, here and there,
gadually more present that sense of awareness of slipping away, I'd say,
and that is always a tough one to fight...
It is as if he was not fighting it today........
He's in his sixteenth year...
I do not think I will live to beat any record at all. 72 would be
incredible luck...Then again, I noticed that people who never were sick
with a condition or another before 55 went first...
As if the body gest ut of practice with fighting ailments if nothign is
there to perk the defense mechanism for too long.
My dad was quite ehalthy and solid. Never sick. Never missed a day of work
in his life.
He passed away at 72.
Mom had a bad stroke at 55. She now is 83. Had two or three more milder
strokes since, including two the last yearor two. But she s still more
fucntional than most 60 years old, if she is weakening of course with age,
faster the last eyar and even faster these ast months. The eyarwas hard on
me with thoughts of the imminence of losing all I love. My mom, my
dogs...My pigeon...all are old for their species, and nearing the life
expectancy limits, or already have ""overlived"" it...(Is there such a
thing as *over* live? Can anyone ever live too long for their liking???Save
suicidal cases of course....).

{{{{{{{{{{{{{Chloe & Eateat}}}}}}}}}}}}}
This morning, he looked really like all there was left was whatever time
it would take for him to entirely fade away....
Patted him, but he bare;y reacted....
Decided to elt him rest after mnay hugs and kissses and all, looking at
him from the couchwhere I sat trying to think of what could be dne,
thinking of vet or no vet, and opting against vetas I know too well they
would answer thatsince he is old, "bah". Been there, was ggiven that
answer, and was glad they allowed me to walk ot of there with him without
their euthanizing him at the time, in June.
I also remembered what a vet did to Fleabag.....
When I accepted that I was on my sole own, i.e. no vet would elp, and I
had to do soemthing if anything could be done, I considered opening
him up. Wished I had what it took to put him under the time to fix it
myself. I knw I woud do a etter job than them at it too! But I don,t have
the necessary equipment and anesthetic material, and so, thatwas wishful
thiking.
As I sat there, he woudl of course each ten minutes or so lift his head to
see if I was there...
I finally went back to sit by him, patting him, thinking of whatcould be
done...
I felt the bump: it was at the smalelst since this happened, sort of
concentrated in the middle spot that woudl harden under the touch in the
middle of the swelling that used to e there. Only the spot left, but hard,
tight under the skin.
I keep thinkingintestinal hernia, since I can not think of any other thing
in that area thatcould do that....
I told him it might hurt a bit but that Lady had to feel nd palp whatwas
going on in there...
It felt like a bend over or wrapped few inches of intestines, stuffed, and
the hole closing on them, so a danger of strangulation of the int4estines,
if that is what I think it is.
I then opted to tryad gently loosen it by simply doing ircular massages
over it, then of it as I could, so lng as he did not seem to be in acute
pain...
If a movement would hurt, h would lift his head and touch my hand to let
me know...and I woudl stick to the other motions then ti try and make it
loosen up...
After a while, I stopped and elt him restagain, waited a moent and went
back to see: it had swollen up again, but he seemed to be breathing btetr,
and more alert....
I thought hard of what I could do and thought of Castor oi. Something to
oil the insides and make whatever stuffed the indtestines unglue, melt a
bit, move out, downwards....Hopefully leaving the intestines pily enough
for long enough for me to then massage them back in the hole, could I find
it with palping.
Told him Lady thought of a good med to try. Told him tasted awful, but
could remove the bump and help....That I would go buy med when stores
opened to give t to him.
Also trid to cheer him up sayign I woudl cook stew today...
His eyes looked brighter and really, eh massage seemed to have help as
much as it was swollen for a few inches around the harder bum, now a bit
softer, if still hard inthe middle f the swelling....Hope it might go
away, but in cae, gettign ready for the drugstore.
Got there five mnutes before they opened. Bought two small bottles of
castor oil, thinkign that r4efusing to swallow that, EatEat might make me
spill most of the two bottles efore gettign some down his throat...
Got back home....
He looked better a bit, so I patted him and decided to feed the birds to
get them out of my way....so I could concentrate on EatEat.
As I was in teh kitchen preparing Titan's pablum, atEat got up *on his
own*, alone, completely, and walked to see what I was doing....!
Patted him, and he showed wanting to walk through the kitchen after a
moment and to the patio door. elped him out. e went to pee a lil. Came
back in...Wnated to lay down, panting, but not as bad as the last day or two...
Helped him down...
Went back to the kitchen...Next thign I knew, he was up again onhis own
and again in the kitchen, looking closely at what I was doing...
y then I was trying to prepare a meal for him and Lad: dog food. Wonderign
if he was hungry, and thinking "If food passes, then the blockageis not
complete....If he gets better, maybe there is hope it is stiff fucntional,
like the last months....
He again asked out, Second pee round, longer pee always thatsecond one,
with him.
Helped him back in.
He sniffed about in the yard, looking curious, if tired, and so a bt
better than yesterday in thattoo....But th day was young.
He got back in, layed down in he livign again, and soon again got up a
third time on hsi own to come to the kitchen. Then I knew: He had ehardme
talk about STEW and thought he woudl ahve some for reakky!!L:)
Tld him it would be later, for supper, as takes time, and had to clear the
counters and sink and stove top forst and really do some cleaning...
Got the dog food bowls on the floor. One for Lad, one for EatEat. Satdown
and helped EatEat to his food....I actually have to take a handful of wet
food and hld it in front of his nose, until he decids to have a lick to
taste and se if he likes it, then he eats from my hands. Mesy as ell, but
the thigns we,d not do for our loved pets, huh?:)
I had rpepared him a full can of dg food, thinking he ate less the alstd
ays and must be starved...If he coudl eat.
He ate almost all of it: even if Lad always has his own bowl and share,
Eatat will always leavethe last two bites for Lad...An so he did.
But I was lglad he ate a good serving, and showed hungry!:)
He layed down again as eating requires he stays laying with his body
upwards, rather than sideways, and he has trouble with an eboww and
arthritis, where he can not hold the position very long...
After maybe 45 minutes of seing me clan counters, empty garbages, clean
abut get dishes upstairs, etc, he got up on his own again...I followed him
to secure his walk and see if he wanted out again...He was not sure, but
he did anyway, wen I told him it was a nice sunny day, no rain, wow!:)
Another pee...Good!
Then back in, mre tired the third time....As he ad walked, I palped the
bump on his side. Itwas gettign smaller again, but not so small as the
strangulation point of the morning....
I then hoped the food woudl help open the intestines and not make the hole
close on them....
Stared the dishwasher, and had a coffee in teh living, peaking at him at
times, on the other side of the coffee table. I'd giggle each time as sure
enough, his eyes wre peaking to meet mine. And he looked happy and curious
and expecting like a dog who heard the wrd Stew and is a Simpsn dog;=-).
Hmmm. Stewwwwww;-).
Told him he coudl have a nice nap, cause stwe was only later, takes time
to do, and lady not done with cleaning either, and besides, he no hungry
now, so later. When he hungry again.
Patted him, said I woudl come ehre to tell Ollie adn Ghost and Dabid he
was a bt better this morning....Iffar frm out of the woods for that much.
Have not given him the castor oil...Waiting to see how things will go
today....I'd prefer he drinks more befoer tryign that stuff, if I try it,
cause it can cause dehydration temporarily, where if he does not dink
enough, thatwould not be good on that side....
But then, h never tends to drink much in the day: mainly late evening, he
will have like 3 rounds of heavy drinking, two of about 80 sips each, and
one of about 60, with maybe 20 sips here and there in the hours before....
He ahd two 60 sips last night....And abrely 10 sips here or there, fewer
times than normal...
As long as the bladder and intestines work, though...
Yesterday when he was doing so awful, e managed to signal over and again
untl I got it: he needed to poop but was nto able to walk out nor even do
the effort.
Helped him with suppositories and he the coud manage to go, and you shoudl
ahve seen the grateful face on him after...It sees to have eben what
bugged the life out of him all day.
Problem is EatEat is such a "lean" dog by nature, never doing his thing in
the house, that he teries to hold it. And thatc an make things abd and
worse. What seemed like his being hot with oh, maybe not fever per se, but
inflamamtion in his tummy, was still there in the spot only though this
morning. His mouth thatwas dry and showing he was not doing too well at
all yesterday seems better this morning.
I know that the fact I am home cheers him up a lot too, and wonder then
what of nextweek.....
And how muc tougher it would be tto give him the castor oil on a weekeday
where I have to work, and where I would prefer there whe i actsup in case
of bloating due to blocking, to amssage his tummy....
For now, the dishes are washing. Nce to have a dishwasher:).
I always loved the sound of a dishwasher, a waser and dryer, and even make
poeple think I am nuts cause thesound soem fridges make put me to sleep
while it drives most people nuts when they aertryign to sleep:).
I will soon go downstairs again to vacuum, sweep the floros. then wash teh
aquarium filter and see what Ic an do to change at least half the water of
it woudl I not feel up to changing it all this weekend, then wash teh
floors and put the new carpett4s I promised EatEatI woudl install a few
ays ago already, by the door, so he does nto slip.
Ohyeah...
I also this mornign have put Tweedleleedee in the new cockatiel,s cage.
Tootsie was sared, and Tweed was nt at all, if he screamed hs lungs out
when I grabed him to transferhim to the other cage. But as soon as he was
there, e knew where he was, and was all happy. Tootsie on its (her? His?
Hopefully "her"!) side was sacredand grabbing teh bars, climbed at the top
of the cage:), holding on to the sides of the cage, its heart beatign
fast, scared....
Tweed got curious liek mad and went to check thevitamin block, the bowls,
where I added his in so he woudl not be too lost, and where hesure was
curious about checking all in thatc age. But he was even more interestign
in trying to get nearTootsie who was way to scared still.
After a good 20 minutes, she got on one of the prcjes, and groomed
"herself" a moment...Seign she was not killed nor dead nor attacked. Tweed
fas got next t her and tried to reach to help her groom but she moved away
a bit, sacerd still.
After I was sure they woudl not kill each oter in the minute I went back
to the ktichen to work. When I next came back tot eh living, Tootsie was
eating in Tweed,s bowl and he was standing earer and nearer, slowly
getting closer, taming her. Then both were eatin atthe same time in
Tweed,s bowl:). Good, cause I found that Tootsie did not eat enough, and
needed some vitamins and food for er featehrs that are all a mess.
Cm^pared to that. Tweed is a beauty, his efatehrs all nice and wowie, his
colors vivid and all.
I DO have hope Tootsie is a female. I am famous for always gettignt he
wrogn gender in birds, 100% f the time, so...Odds are against my hope. But
I still hope.
Sometimes I tink "maybe pet store people are idiots. Maybe it is like for
budgies. With budges, the color of the nostrils/upper beak tells you if
male or female. With Tweed, a cockatiel, the nose is dark grey, beak that
is, and nose dark near nostrils and aroudn nostrils. With tootsie, the
beak is pink, light, and the nosrils only flesh color. Her nose in fact is
so tranret you can see the sort of line that goes in the middle t the tip
of the beak, where the beak is harder.
I hope she will let Tweed groom her...Woudl do her feathers good, poor thing.
In the meantime, Sqaks and Chelseigh found out they were alne in their
cage....Squaeaks finally came out to see and dance about, jumping from oen
perch to the other, checking whatwas gone, lookn at the two cockatiels in
the cage by them...She stayed out of her house for a change....
But Chelseig after a few mnutes seemed lonely for weed: since Squeaks
always stayed locked in her house-suspended nest, and him alone with
Tweed, he sort of made a bonding with Tweed, if they woudl also beawae f
each other, every nw and then warnign the other to back off.
I even saw Chelseigh try and beak Squeaks away as she treid t gettt he
food bowl. And her run to another perch, wodnerign what the....
I trustthat in no time though they shoud adapt and all feel betetr with
their respective partner of their own species...
Bought two moer kinds of fish filets yesterday in hope t find soemthign
Tu'tle will want to eat. Bad news: she refused both kinds. ARGH!
Her kind is nowhere to be foud. She decided she liked this one kind of
fish filet stripes I cut those in, and will not eat anythgn else. Only, I
have a hard time finding that specific kind lately. NOwhere to be found!
Might just be that her water is too dirty and she eneds perked up by a
fresh change of water and clean filter.
So that needs done this weekend for sure.
Just a short break I am having, if you trust the lst fo things I wish to
do, but that I suspect can not all do in two days....
I am glad my dog loves stew and rememebrs the word, and is ready to try to
fight one more day in the same of Chloe's stew promise;).
I am certainly glad he is a ood lover...EatEat all right:)
He so loves seign me at home, clanign up and doing tis aroudn where then he
can hear me and does not hav to check if I am there all teh time, and
knows he can expect a good supper at the end of the day. A real male,
hahaha:). If only they all loved my food thatway! L:)
And just t show that one shoudl never gve up:
Lad elarned at his age 15 going on 16 that if he obeys the Lady when she
is dead serious about hsi stayign qwuiet and still, he gets the lady to be
all happy, telling him what a good biy he is, gets pats and wowies and all
that yummy stuff.
Mr. Stubborn finally learned thatwhen I said "Move over" it did not eman I
hated him or wanted to give EatEat soemthign more than him, but needed t
help Eat Eat and woudl get abck to Lad and pat him after.
Dunno if it will last....But it was stunning to see his astonished face
when he ehard me say "Good boy, Lad! Wow wow!Lad obeyed! Good smart smart
dog, smart in the head! Good pup! Smart pup!".
And yet Lrd knws how many times a day for 16 years I tried and tried to
give him good cheers when he happened to do soemthign good....Ad t try and
make hm not be afraid and hjust do as I say and see if it is not better...
But only this one time did he atually happen to d soemthign good when
ASKED, and get the encouraging words fr actually obeying...
As for me, still ake the sinus tabs...The sinuses sure remidn em if I
skip the time for the next two tabs.
For the secodn time, ths morning, I clearly flt the piece of plastic,
thinker than cellophane, in my sinues gettign close to my throat....It is
so frustrating to fel it and not be able to spit it, caugh it, blow it, etc.
But I am not giving up either and keep on taking the sinus tabs, in hope
that soemhow it will make the darn plastic piece be more spottable and
hopefully removable somehow.
Tired stil...But if EatEatdoes btetr, I donlt care if I don't sleep for a
year, nah!:)
Better is always a big big word, remmebr. His god days are better, and hsi
bad, unfortunately, worse each time too....
But I get upset when I think it is NOT old age that bugs him (for the
arthritis, yes, for the tummy, NO!:(), and that vets are like drs: dollar
sign assholes who,d not hlp a dog of 15 if it broke a leg cause bah, it is
15, type of thing. Morns:(.
When I retire, I might just becoem a vet, nah. nd exactly specialize with
old pets.
Saw what they did (or ratehr did NOT do) for Felabag. Fr Kekette. And now
EatEat, wehre in all cases, it was things that coyudl be fixed where they
did NOTHING and went "but he is 18!Sheis 24! He is 15!".

poor ole guy, just by reading your posts. eateat does'nt seem to be
suffering. whether its my place to say it or not, be reassured you're
doing the right thing by not going to the vet. even hear, the vets see
an old animal and the first thing that crosses there mind is....
sad, they're dealing with someone's pet, even someone's kid.

:) Sure will. Dunno how hug coupons would turn wrong, when from you!:)
Justas EatEat had a terrible day yesterday and this early morning too, he
had a superb day afterwards. The best yet!
Probably helped by the massage and the hugs and the seing me working in
the house all day....If I only managed dishes, vacuuming old carpets,
rolling up one and putting the other one in its place (old as well), fter
scrubing the hardwood floors in the living and entrance all day. One inch
at a time, so fitlhy it was -and is still. The floors are okay, but the
walls, gawd, the mess!
I also installed half of the new "corridor" carpettes, the anti-slip type.
So farso good, they really stick to the floors. Yay! I dunno how they will
do as soon as pet hairs and dust collects, which is extrmely fast around
here...Speed of light.
I could not do the stew EatEat so looked forward to, if I again promised
for tomorrow and managed to thaw the beef shoulder roast I hope to cut in
pieces, since he ate the entire stew meat the other day, with Lad. On the
day I had to go to work when he was so so so so csick I thougth he woudl
be dead when I would be back...I figured real meat might give him a boost
and gave him the stew meat that morning:).
It was nice to feel good enough today to do some work at long last in the
house. That Thursday off to watch over Eat Eatturned out a day where both
he and I slept the whole day, savign me the sleepiness of the Saturdays I
knew all summer, sleeping through all day Saturday and not being much more
awake on Sundays...This time I could use the Saturday....
The ktichen is an absolute mess. It woudl be a miracle if I coudl wash the
kitchen and dining room floors tomorrow, in the state they are.
The last time ÃŽI could move, I had transpotted a plant, and the soil bag
is still on the table, as is everythign I brought hom since that would not
spoil if left there...The plant is also there....I think the duining room
I have not touched since January or February!!I donlt use it much,
therefore staretd by the rest, and in the meantime that oen got to be the
worst of them all. The kitchen not beign far behind, if the floors were
washed sometime in summer, and spot washed maybe once or twice. I really
was sick "as a dog" this entire spring and summer...
Today, using the sinus tabs religiously, which is not hard to rememebr as
the second I skip the time the nose and trhat and ears remind me fast
enough all right, I managed quite fine. However, I think the body is
gettign used to them, where I do not last six hours in between
anymoer...Tomorrow I will switch to corricidin II, if I do not like those
as much, cause they ake my mouth way too dry, and are not as effective with
me anyway...But if I want the others to not end up avign no effect at all,
betetr switch a day or two to corricidine in the day...
Lower back is sore from the floor washing. I really scrubbed them one inch
at a time, spending hours on them, and they are not even looking shining
or anything,. The varnish is quite old by now...Ten years soon.
But at least I can relax a bit more in that room, if the walls are
discouragingly yellowed...If I could do the kitchen this time around, and
if the pets healt allows, maybe I could do the ceiling paint, finish that
next weekend? If I do not sleep the entire silly weekend again, that is....
Tomorrow, sweep kitchen ad dining room floors, then aquarium...Useless
towash teh floors before washing the aquariumand changing the aquarium
water as I will make puddles all over the place...Tu'tle badly needs a
change of water in there. I did not change it last spring, too ill, and
usually change the water completely both in spring and fall, scrubbing the
inside and bottom, removing everythign and reputting everything in...
I HOPEthis will make Tu'tle eat her food....
She ahs not eaten in six days now. Not so rare with turtles, but
still....Given thatse will soon hibernate and hardly ever eat until
spring, she needs to eat and make reserves! Still can not find the kind of
fish she will eat so far...
So I am stuck with eating filets of fish for two days now:), if I donlt
want to waste them...Cut a piece off and tried it with her with each ind,
but she would not touch them at all....
Maybe I will have her walk in the living room tomorrow, before it is too
full of dog hairs...Maybe that will wake her up a bit, enough to eat after
I change her water and all...
Ever so so so happy and grateful t God and all thatEatEat had such a
great day!!! He just suddenly id wodnerfully, after being at the worst. I
really thought he woudl justfade away and woudl be gne by the most by
Tuesday...Still coudl happen: I noticed with humans that when they get
really really sick and are near deat, they suddenly sem to ahev three ays
of spitting fire and seeming out of trouble, then wham....As if God
granted three extra days before they woudl depart....
So I try and keep that in mind, even if EatEatdid so well today....
The bump is still there. Bigger than this morning, but not seemign to hurt
him unless I woudl pish on it very hard, say. It is a bit more even, i.e.
less of that solid bump in the middle, if it is cearly still big and there
all right. But I then hope it will get like before, i.e. sicne he either
fell from the stairs r had whatever episde that elft him completely
paralysed for weeks, a few months back.
Today, as I took a reak from washing one part of the living, I talked out
loud to him saying :
-He, maybe we will get that floor cleaned after all, huh?"
And since i had left him t restin peace all day, busy on my side and seign
he was sleepign well and rsting well, recuperating, I had not noticed he
was with his eyes opened, watchign em and waiting for a word. Upon hearign
me address him, he surprised me with some new thing: wagging hs tail!!!
I was extatic! EatEat could lift and roll hs tail n his back since only tw
weeks or so....It stayed paralysed longer than the rest of his body. But
he coudl not wag his tail left to right at all. This time, wthout
thinking, just out of beng happy I talked to him after beign silent for
hours, he wagged hsi tail! Not much, but clearly, twuice, left to right
and again. I justelt out a shout,. all happy to see that, telling him
"EatEat wagged his ail! EatEatwagged his tail!!!! Oh my gawd!:) Been so
long! EatEat moved his tail like this! (moving his tail as if wagging, for
him, as he no logner could do it....The surprise and waiting and waiting
for a word had made it happen...
He made me laugh out loud quite a few times today, too, making faces like
he used to, like pretending to not be looking at me when he was, turning
hs eyes to the ceilign like one whistling a tune. Always makes me laugh,
that:). He had a touch of playfulness to him today, if he could not move
freely to show it. But he did get up on his own four times, walked the
kitchen five times today, went out four times to, lots of walking for him
that is, since his tummy started hurting him.
And as odd as it may sound, he was so hilarious after he pooped in the hose!
He signaled that he wanted to poop. Saw me get the paper towels to put
under his rear end, and without needing coaxed or anything, i.e. begged to
pulease poo even if he coudl not go out to do it, unabel to stand on his
hind legs to d the job without falling still, -without needing to plead
wit him, he dd his job, and as soon, and I mean as soon as he was dne, he
raised his ehad and soulders, stood up in his laying position if you see
whatI mean, with that happy face of his when he knows he did soemthign
good that will be a surprise to me, in this case finally clicking that it
was okay if he coudl not go out to poop in the house, nd I,d pick it and
wash the floor, period...he jkust in a zap ended h job, turned aroudn and
upwards to look me sraight in the eye to see if I woudl say "Yay"Good
boy!" without a frown, and seing I did, he was absolutely proud f hismelf
and to show me "I got it! You mean it is okay if I poop in he hosue when I
can not go out being too sick!!! Is thatit?:)", all proud of himself and
to show me he got it now:)
He had the exactEatEat facehe had when only a few motnhs old and I tried
to show him to sit, and to give his paw.
Never saw a dog not get that one in a few min utes. But he did not...
Busy with other things, I ahd left it to that when three days later, I was
at the pc and he had walked to me, but staying like ten feet away. I
turned aroudn and saw im stare at me. Wondered what eh wanted.
-You okay? Need soemthing, EatEat?
And then and there, he made a loud bark to get my attention, a "watch
me"bark, and in a baltant way, walked right by me, sat, gave me a big deep
look, then gave me his paw!!
He ahd clicked three days later as if he had ran that in his brain for
three days! But more: he was OFFERING to sit and give his paw!! From thatd
ay on, he learned absolutely anythign I;d show hi9m, and fast, and never
ever tired fo learnign stuff. He loved learning, and putting it in practice,
too!
On his side, 16 eyars later, Lad clcked half way through what "listening
to Lady" means. He clicked about it when I told him to move over, push
over, cause when he stared at EatEatthatway when I tried to coax him to
drink or eat, he woudl make EatEat feel threatened, scared and
intimidated, where EatEat woudl turn away fromthe bowl, by fear of beign
attacked by Lad -wh nver woudl miss achance to either:(-.
I had to drag him by the skin of the neck to the door and in he yard the
ther day as he woudl keep doing that and told himthatdogs thatdo not
listen to Lady can go outdoors and stay there.
When I got him in, told him the deal was either he listened or woudl lvie
outdoors forever, how was that???
I was tired of him attacking a dying fdog and being so jalous that I coudl
not even feel I woudl ahve five minutes in peace with EatEat beofre he
woudl die. Very frustratign thatwas.
So when he tried again, stubborn as he is, and heard me snap at him "Move
back there and ?%$ stay there or else I chop your head off! Gawd, that is
annoying!! Listen to Lady and move over, push away, back off ansd stay
there, quiet!!", he finally decided it was besfor him to lay low and lay
down and not move.
But that happened to exactly be what I was asking him to do! So seing he
did whatI asked, I went "Good boy! Lay down and stay! Good boy, move
back!! Wowie dog, lad, listened to lady!!!Wow!! Took you 16 years but see,
there is always hope! Good good biy, smart int he ehad too, now! Smart in
the ehad like eatEat,wowow, good dog listen! Lad listen, wow!!".
He often wa told he was a good boy, but this time, looked in my eyes
tryign to read whatwas in them for the sudden change in me, adn tryign to
spy if I was REALLY happy about him or what. Seign I was really really
appy about hi, I coudl see his eyeborws show he was tryignto think really
really hard....
And today, alld ay, if I woudl go giveEatEat water or food, he woudl walk
away, lay down, and stay put at a distance! I told him he was a good by
each time.
But by the end of the day, seing me wish atEata good night, telling EatEat
he was a good dog and all, Lad , too jalous, walked by...I was tryign to
also make EatEat drink more....And Eat Eatturned away from the bowl just
as he fianlly was about to take a sip. There was Lad, practical;ly walking
ON him, imposing. Grrrrr...
-Back off! Move over! Push away! Go there!!!
And he did.....
I was stunned! It showed he went backwards, but he did!!!So he ahd the
good boy thign all ver again,nd this time stared in my eyes for ten long
minutes, tryign t nto even blink to read in my eyes how happy I was about
him obeying...
Lter, I was sitting on the couch adn told EatEat how happy I was he got so
well today....EatEatwas on the other side of the coffee table, like ten
feet away from me.
I then noticed Lad was at the other end of the living, laying down....h
seemed sad....Then *I* clicked: he thougth I emant he was to always stay
away to mae me happy!!!!!!:(:(
-Oh poor puppy, come here, Lad!! Good good boy! Lady want you t come here
too, silly! Lady justwant you back off when ÃŽEatEat drink and EatEat food!
Not back off always always! Come here! Good bioy listen to Lady and *came
here*!!!Liste to Lady "back off" and listen to ÃŽLady "cme ehre"...Good boy
"came here"! Good boy listej "sit", good boy listen lay down, good dog
listen back off, good boy listen come here, listen wow!"
I coudl see he was trying to add the data in his brain....All of those
were good?? he seemed to be tryign to compute....
-Donlt be afraid...Lady does nto want to hurt you ever ever! ady not hurt,
Lady heals!-....:(
-Heals...Not a bad thing,"hal"...-"Heal means: make booboo go way, booboo!
Lady not hurt animals! Lady not hurt Lad,lady not hurt: lady HEALS: makes
booboo go away! All animals, Lad, EatEat, tu'tle, birds, all animals lady
Heals, lady not hur...Lady HEALS! Not booboo! Lady makes booboo go away,
not do booboo, silly!
Then both he and EatEat looked at me as if a brick fell on their
head....As if they were saying "Of courrrrrse! She,s a healer!!!! Aaaah,
that splains it all!".
I was stunned to see their reation,. Not sure what they made of it, but I
could see a new light in Lad's eyes. He then put his head on my lap,
lookng me in the eyes again, but this time, with whatread clearly as a dog
tryign to put away terror....
-Poor lil puppy of nothing, Lad...I always wonder what they ever ever
coudl have done to you thatyou stayed so terrified for your entire
life....You were just 2 moths old and were scared out of your witts
wherever you lived before....What did they ever ever do to you as a lil
baby pup for you to be so so so afraid...You were already so scared you
were like a cornered rat all the time, ready to jump at anyone,s
faceanytime for anything....Out of beign scared! And fr eyars tried and
tried to say not be afraid, lad....But poor old pup, will aev taken you 16
eyarsto trust me once and try.........Good puppy...Poor old Lad...Lady
wuvs you, you know? Much much much....Lady wuvs puppies much much. Good
puppies. Lady very lucky nice puppies liek this. Tw puppis. Two puppies
smart in the ehad. Two pppies good good puppies! Here, lil silly one...I
let you have my pillow....See? Just like EatEat. Eat Eat has his pillows,
Lad can use my pillows and put his ehad on my pillow and
sleep...There.....Nice puppy...
And he is there sicne, sleeping happily on the couch, his head on my
pillow...
EatEat sleeping on the floor....
One thng bugs me with EatEat,s health: well, one among, and a new one: I
thought he was always starved cause his drool was gettign ever so thick at
tmes, even if e had eaten plenty a while before, say.
Thentoight, I clicked: he is NAUSEOUS a momnt after he ate, adn for a few
hours at least...This means it is hard on hsi tummy and digestive system,
this bump. Was not liek that before....
If things are almost coming back up, might be a bad sign....
K3eign a close watch on any sign of any possible complication and
any progress...
But all in all, undeniably, today was his best day sicne this
started....if the daystarted wiht him looking liek death that woudl not
wantto be warmed up:(....
For a change, may tomorrow show ingoign progress...So far, it is like saw
teeth: the better he does oen day, theworse he gets the day after and vice
versa....Good days being betetr, bad woens beign worse....
I hope that pattern ends when he is on a high, not a low...:(
Thanks for lettign me babble about my lil and big joys and heartbreaks of
each day of tis episode....
As a healer, ealing those I love s always the toughest, cause of course my
emotions are all voer the place, and my energy wave lenght then is not the
right one....Itthen is hard to stay "collected" and connected....
But with someone nice to vent the hard times with, and share the prgress
with too, it makes it so I do not show worried or tearful with EatEat, and
so that when I see him after a break, I exactly coudl get my energies
aligned and btter un-scattered, to do the best I can.....
Thaks so much to you for that, and to david and Ollie and those wo wrote a
nice word here and there trughout the last month, and the spring and summer
before that....
EatEat knows your name, David's name and Ollie's name....
hen I go upstairs to the pc room, EatEat is told I am ging to giev Ollie
and david ad Ghost news and say how well EatEat is doing....and tell him
that you are all happy and say wow , good good biy, Eateat!, and all give
him a big hug and pat and all:). I use the words he knows and understands
well to try and convey that all all all these people say EatEat,
heal!EatEat heal! Get all all better!".:).
He knows thatpoeple talk in a phone....So I tell him people talk IN a
puter, too....:) I think he thinks you are all small people living in tis
machine:):)
Nighty night, and tahnks so many millions!
Huge hug to you too, Ghost!

the past few days i've been thinking alot about poochy :)
never think that at one time i never wanted a dog myself even tho i
like dogs.
when my mom and i got pooch, pooch and i were never close.
pooch's last six months with us, pooch and i became real close. it's
weird, what happened to cause that?
at one time, i used to get mad cause the guys would give pooch a dog
biscuit when ever he went out. sometimes he made a small stock of
biscuits and than would drive us up the wall by asking to go out just
about every time we turned around :p
than one, i caught myself giving pooch a biscuit when he wanted out ;)
i wish we could've had more time together :\
i am a tiny person but not tiny enough to fit in your puter :p
i think thats cute when you tell eateat about me and others :)
so eateat, you listen to lady and she make you better ok? :)

I forget about the weather changing quickly so far north. It has cooled off at my
parents and northern friends, and started too here. We still hit 85F nearly every
day, but it is a pleasant, less humid warmth.
Sending warm wishes for all those starting their yearly trek into autumn and winter.

Agreed. There are many good vets out there too. We just hope to run
into them more than the less sympathetic type. An uncle is a vet for
larger animals (think farm animals) and his associates to the smaller
ones. I used to hang out there when we visited. Anyway, I'd like to
share a characature that they still have posted in the waiting room
some twenty years later -- There is a picture of Don holding a small
animal for a child and the caption is "Sorry kid, I can't fix your
pet worm".
Take care,
David
I removed the addie in case it would not be the one you wanted to use on
google.
Yes, it is good news, but Eat Eat could no longer wag his tail. He smailes
for real that dog, so at least, I had the smileys to know when he was fine
and happy:).
He has not wagged his tail since.
He had a bit of either pain or discomfort last night. He knows that if he
needs anything, he just needs to pant, and I will get up and see what he
needs or wants.
He would point at his tummy....I tried to gently feel it. Was quite hard
and stuffed in the bump...
I then told him if he could poop, that would help make room inside...
After repeating to him over and over again that Lady knew h does not do in
the house "on purpose", not his fault, Lady knew he prefered outdoors but
he coudl not yet, cause tummy hurts too bad for that so okay to do in
house and Lady will pick up and clean, he finally did his job.
Instant relief that brought him. He went from pantign restelessly, in
either anxiety or pain to complete snoring, instantly.
I did tell him over and over after though that booboo happens if EatEat
waits to poop, and to always poop when he needs to, not to waqit for Lady,
even fi Lady at work or asleep or upstairs. I hope he gets to relax about
tht before he dammages his insides further....He justa lways was such a
clean clean dog, like the cats were too....Only one that ever did messes
in here was Lad and he was worth all the messes all the other pets
together could have done...Lad for somereason neefdds to amrk anythign
made out of plastic or cellophane, liek shopping bags, or garbage cans if
plastic, or anyting at all made of plastic. Go figure. Maybe as a puppy
they had him in a plastic pan, like for cats? But Lad never learning to
stop what annoys me still to ths day never misses to spot and mark
whatever I forget is made of plastic and put on the floor. All my plants
need be on tables or shelves and dressers. Pain for decoration...Garbage
cans are containers of whatever other material I then use for that.
Though after he marked soemthign a few times, if I wash it thoroughly and
all he muststill pick some scent f his or the scent f the house, ause ocne
they get the house scent, vs store scent or whatever place it comes from,
he stops marking them. If I had to go back in time, I woudl have him
"neutered". Would havedone him good.
I actually tried to, given how agressive he also is, btu the same dang vet
that figures EatEat s too old to be treated had told me that it was no use
sicne he was two to neuter him atall. I sicne learned it is not so at all.
Itmakes a difference, if not always the same impact on all dogs, but
clearly akes a difference on all dogs, if neutered.
I think of that vet's words the lasttime I went there with atEat in June,
for his tummy:
-"There must be soemthign with your place to make your pets live so long!".
I shoudl have said "Yeah. I don,t let vets euthanize them for fleas when
they reach age 9:(".
Both Kekette and Fleabag died cause of vet negligence or completely illegal
vet ways/tactics.
I only take pets there for the same reason I go to a dr--and with the same
friggen results too I might add: when I know what they ahve and that they
need some meds I can not get without a prescription, or that a surgery si
required.
There is another possibility with EatEat,s tummy thing. But even then it
woudl eman hernia cause of where it is anyway...Unless the intestines
coudl stretch that much...I.e. I know that someoen I once penpalled with
had a major problem and required surgery because somehow, some tool got
upwards in his intestines and landed in the wrong one, the upper one,
where it stayed stuck and woudl not move down. Imagine the inlfammation
and probs thatc an create...
The spot it is with EatEatmakes me think of that spot in our intestines
thatis said to be easily blockable even with grape seeds, for instnce, as
it almost makes a 90 degree angle. Because of where it is located on
EatEat and how high (from the belly, it moves *over* the lower and mid
ribs when real bad, but seems to originate from the abdomen area, coming
over the ribs wen no more room in the abdomen, if you see whatI mean), I
also think it is just before the connection from one intestine t
another...Somethign maybe is trapped there...Therefore my tryign to
massage, as much as I can and as much as he can stand without bad pain. A
lil pai temporary pain to avoid serious major permanent one is worth the
try in my view...Ofcourse woudl he be in more than discomfort, I stop
massaging or change spot and getto the other side of the "bump"...
When he was a pup,i.e. in the minute I got him, I somehow knew immedately
that dog,s life was in serious danger. In fact all other pups atthat place
I knew were beyond savign point, and felt thatonly EatEat coudl maybe be
brought to a vet on time and be saved...I knew they all had eaten rocks!
Pebbles. Don,t ask me how, I just"knew" by the way their bellies were
bloated, distended, and hwo they would sit....Beautiful pups of all
kinds...I told the owner who brushed it off like I would be a retard...We
paid 30 bucks for EatEat, and I tried to also buy his mom, but they woudl
not sell her. I coudl see her looking at me taking her pup, all sad and
worried...And I felt they were not properly taken care f and fed over
there, plus they were infested with more fleas than they had skin for. hey
were moving with fleas!
Tried to somehow givethe mom a look thatwoudl let her know I woudl take
good care of her pup, and we left. I was with my then bf and told him we
had to ehad straight for a vet, with no stop nor delay, thatwe woudl be
lucky if we made it on time: the dog ate sand and pebbles, I was sure of it.
Yet eh looked fine and normal and all to everyone, say. B... froned, but
knew better than to argue with me about such things:), and he drove
directly to the vet: meanwhile the dog started trhwoign up sand over ad
pver again, confirming my fears.
Got to the vet, at the clinic where I now take only my pigeon and birds.
By then EatEatwas not doing well...His entire body gave signs of advanced
agony, after only a 30 minute drive....
Asked the vet to please waste no time and X Ray his tummy as I was sure he
ate pebbles.
He took an X-Ray and confirmed. He coudl see three pebbles had not passed,
and were stuck exatly where the intestines make that tight angle. In his
view they coudl not pass on their own, no way. I then said to operate on
the double and remove them. But he said there was not enough life left in
that dog to operate.
I then had gone to the drugstore to buy the kind of kits they then sold
before people went for intestinal exams. Gave him the stuff. By the time
we were home and I could give him the stuff, his jaws were closed tight,
as in stffening under advanced agony:(....
That dog had never been in a house, was lost with people all around him,
used to being alone outdoors on a farm, or with a lil girl that played
with them (and fed them playing house, adding pebbles to their dog food is
whatI figured), and there he was, in pain, with strangers forcing his
mouth opend and shoving stuff he hated down his throat....
It took three days before he could go....But he apssed the friggen stones,
all three of them.
I wonder now....Coudl it be there was more than three and one stayed there
always, or that his insides stayed distended or sensitive makng this a
tricky thing for the rest of his life? Coming back to haunt him in his end
of life...?
I still am considerign giving him the castor oil. I fear the effect on
him, as in "pushing"effect, that might urt hs insides woudl it not wanna
pass. But I also fear about if it stays stuck in there and hardens in
time, as happened with the penpal I meantioned talkign to years ago that
had a blockage due t "back-up sewage", to put it ths way;-).
For all I know, it could also be Crohn's disease or polypse. But I do not
think of polypses because polypses do not move....Same for tumors. Those
remain still;-). This moves under the pressure of fingers, if oen as to be
very very careful to not put too much pressure and go gently, to not have
anything perforate or split inside.
I fear the pressure f the castor oil, a powerful lubricant but also
*laxative* would make pressure and risk splitting something....
As well, of course I,d then ratehr be here when it would act...In case I
coudl do soemthing to help avoid the splittign or perforation by massages
or Lord knows wat...
Might all be quite fine too. Unless he is at that point of dogestion, so
far, he does okay and there is loose then in the intestines for things to
apss atelast around whatever partially blocked part...
Of course, I keep dreaming and hoping i woudl pass of its own. I tell
myself he ahd that in June and it went away....It coudl again...But not
very liely that is as it has been a while now.....and as the budge when it
happens gets bigger than it did in June....
Castr oil is so powerful a lubricant then again that it was use regularly
by midwives to elp women give birth. I was scheduled for a cesarian myself
with kiddo and refused to have a cesarian if I knew the bay was okay and
in no danger, and I knwe he was okay and all. I then used the midwife
trick when I got to 10.5 months of pregnancy and knew the baby was in
position: they ad done an XRay thatday befoer the scehdueld cesarian which
I did NOT intend to go for one bit and had told my dr about.
At 3 P.M. I took the castor oil, about 60-75 ml -I did not know how much
to take exactly, but trustd my mom who was the daughter of a midwife and
rememebred thigns her mom told her: half a bottle, but we did nt knwo the
size of the bottles then! Eh. Kddo was born naturally at 2:29 tat morning
and only cause the stupid dr woudl not show up at the hospital, knowing I
"justgot there". No pain whatsoever. The placenta bag had not even broken,
they had to break it (make an incision) on he delivery table.
The cesarian was supposed to eb at 5:30 A.M. Nah ner: beat them by thre
hours:).
So I thought of castor oil thinking that isf it can make an 8 pounds 3
ounces baby with a bag of unbroken waters slide through such a small tiny
hole, then there might b hope it can also make whatever is blockign
EatEat's intestine come out. Only, intestiens do not have contractiosn to
widen.....Specially not the upper one....
Still fiddling in my head with "is ther anythign betetr thatcoudl actually
*dissolve* whatever blocks the upper intestine, so nothign solid needs
pass in the lower one?".
Then again, nthign tells me whatever woudl be int here is poop and would
be "dissolvable". For all I know, he swallowed a pice of metal or wood or
watherver. Bones normally do mealt in fgogs tummies, if nt always. It does
NOT feel like a bone when palping it though.
I'll have to put a deadlien on my hesitatiosn, as if it can be expulsed
with castor oi, the more I wait the trickier it coudl get...Complications
forming, liek ulcers inside or bleeding from inflammatin and swelling...
Sort of pacing aroundf faster in my head this morning....
As he sleeps and rests comfortably, not having eaten yet....Which might be
a good thing and tiem to give him the castor oil. POstponing his breakky
wondering if I can come upwith some better idea before I try this one....
It is as if I know somethign else exists, would be at the back of my mind
witout knowing what yet....
Wish I coudl just put the plunger in there;-):).

Maybe it felt discomfort and wanted more pats and attentions, and your mom
being on her own busy schedue and giving him already what she could, he
tried t find someone who could offer him extra suport and pats and
comforting....?
Was your mom particularly busy with ehr own life circumstancesin thse same
six months?
Or maybe you felt he was getting older, or old age changed his
temperament, simply.
Ormaybe YOU aged:), and your own temperament changed:)....?:)

Yeah...My cousin Paul has the most obese cat I ever ever saw. He tld me
their vetsaid it was cause theyhad taken the bad hbit of pattign him when
he ate, where then he looked to food for comfort! Flatly making it
conmfort food.
You know, lately I see ads on english channels where moms giv their babies
before they even cry (toddlers of kids) a pudding to shut them up before
the sound can even comeout...And this other ad where girls talk about one
who was rejected by a guy, and they other girlsd offer her comfort food....
Or thatad where a kid tells her mom her baseball game went wrong. Mom
shoves an ice cream ball in a saucer real fast. The lil girl then said
that she fell...her mom fast puts a second icecram scoop in the plate. Ll
girl ads "and justwehn it was mu turn to bat, it started raining..." and
the mom is scooping the third ice cream portion and stops cold, suddenly
realixzing her lil girl is making up sad events to get more ice crea. Then
the ad goes one with talking abot "confort food".
Those many ads runnign in smilar tiemframe made me realize that in the
French Canadian culture, we do not have such a thing as a notion of
"comfort food". I guess our moms did nt mind our crying out loud as much
or soemthign, or allowed us to cry when we felt liek it....Instead fo
eating our emotions....
Note that the ratio of fat and obese people in Quebec is quite high, and
not changed by thatmissing notion oen bit, it seems...I.e. we have as many
obese persons as the rest of Canada, or close to t, I woudl guess anyway.
> > i am a tiny person but
not tiny enough to fit in your
puter :p > i think thats cute when you tell eateat about me and others :)
>
Hey, I gt to tell him that if I leave him a few minutes, it is only to
better talk about him:),and get him getwell wishes:)
> so eateat, you
listen to lady and she make you better ok? :) >
> {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Chloe&EatEat}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Oh, may I make him better. May he keep tryign and not giving up....
If he saw he got to walk after beignparalysed, then got an attack and gt
to walk after half paralysed again, then got to move his tal, jump better
over the patio door step, etc, after months of this and that happening
by bad luck all one when the other is nto quite entirely goen and back
to normal yet must make my words sound weaker, have a weaker impact on
him....
I try and renew, formulate in new ways, encourage all I can for himto get
that he canget okay and to not give up fighting.
Like alst night, when eh saw thatit was true thatafter doing hsi job the
pain completely stopped, afetr I ahd tld him it woudl beso...That sort of
backs my word up and makes him think of the Lady as omnipotent and
omniscient, see....But one flunk of my word and Lord knows if he woudl
still believe me...Belief, for pets like people, is quite important then:
trust, and hanging in there if at tiems by sheer TRUST, when alle lse
seems to fail. Or like when vets give up and you save them anyway, and the
"bnot enough life left in thatdog to remove the pebbles" ends up beign 16
more years of life and counting still, if not countign too loud to not
tempt fate;-).

Believe it or not, we still got weather in the 80s lastw eek. Of course as
weekend arrives, it always rains and gets much colder;-):).
A government incentive to keep people working, specially civil servants;-)
They call for 13 today, 15 tmorrow and 18 and twenties (Clsius thatis)
after that...probably until the nextweekend nears....;-)
>
> Sending warm wishes for all those starting their yearly trek into autumn and winter.
I welcomed the weaehr yesterday. I codl finally move inthe hosue and get
soem thigns done. I coudl not at all last summer, even witht he airco. The
humidity levels in the hosue still make it way too yuk to move...With
Graves and sesitivity to heat (and cold), it was just impossible unless I
woudl have had a death wish. Worse was I ended up helpign the cousinw hen
I coudl not even do my own,and got myself quite sick frome xuastion cuase
of that, on top of then TItan beign very very sick for a few motnhs, at
the same time as Eateat was paralysed and needing a lot of help...
I sometimes slept two horus a night....Most times not even that or not at all.
And atwrk, I was replacing foureprsons on maternity leave r sick leave....
Now that those are back, they ralize that the workload for any which one
of thse jobs doubled and they all have back-ups!! Makes you shake your
ehad wodnerign wahy the schmuck they coudl not relaize so when it was not
a relative stuck to do it;-), but then in the question si the answer, as
life usually has it;-).
But4yesterday was SUNNY and not so bad at all. I coudl even leave th patio
door opene most of the day as I did the floors, adn the nice sunlight was
great for thattoo!
Today, it is very dark and rainign non-stop. I ahd to turn on everylight
on the firstfloor, adn it still felt at 10 like it woudl be 6 A.M....
Quite dark a day, and much much colder...
The day will startwith Laundry and Aquarium Clean-Up. Filter and water
change. All 70 gallons of it, or if I can not manage, the most I can
anyway, to help tu'tle have a better environment and "breath" better udner
water:), and so that after it all is canged and the filter runs a few days
to catcht eh rest, then is reqwashed and again left to filter and washed
another tiem to catch all possible yuks thatcoudl be left, --so that Titan
can again go baith in there without risking slamonella, and can play tag
with Tu'tle, as they both seem to miss that ad feel quite down without it.
Titan is now doing great, is in her hat time, soon to lay her eggs I am
sure, and is makign this happy sound pigeons make, a soft coing of sort,
low, muffled, in her nestign box to my left:). Her feathers are nicer
than ever lately.
Squeaks was up and outside her house this morning, no longer nervous from
the presence of the coakatiel, (Tweedleleedee bing now in the cage with
Tootsie, the new cockatiel) and was steretching as I would say
"astrrrreeeetchhhh", moving the anket I remove from their cage each
mornign as if it was my own wings, where tey mimmick and in time get to
know the words and what they mean...."Shake shake shake" and
"Stttrrrreeetch"" they do on command....
Tootsie is still a bt sared but getting more accustomed to the presence of
tweed in her/his cage.
More food was gne from the bowl than when only Tweed eats, so at least now
Tootsie eats reasonably, as she did not much before, which worried
me....Shalls ee if ehr featehrs get better...
If I can manage the aquariumand laundry today,I wanna do the ktichen adn
dining room floor....to in time getthe birds nearthe dining room window,
cause by the patio door it gets colder for them, and cause it also leaves
less room for EatEat who tends to trip int he stands, not seing as well as
he used to....
Lad moas for food, but he ate so much yesterday that hsi bely is still
makign a "beer gut" so he will have to wait:).
Thanks for all the comfort and kind words, Dabid. In my ebox too! There is
one f yours in particular I want to reply to, if life gives me a chance
to. Did when I coudl manage to once reach the reply page, and it then
refused to send, and was lost...
Yahoo seems to want to work soemtiems now easier than before, if not as
fast or not all the time.
One day it shoudl get to be fasabel to reply as I wish!
Don,t give up on me...Might be more hard moments needing a pat and hug and
nice email........I hope not of course, but heh.....

:)
Tell the kid to bring me the pet worm, and we shall see if it can not be
fixed, nah!;-):):)
I was supposed to study to become a vet....I was even accepted. But for
oen thing, I lost my memory the spring where I sent the request and did
not even remeber sending it, actually....
For another, I hated the idea of being a vetcause there was no way on
earth I would have accepted to euthanize animals, specially when soem are
asked euthanized as I knew of, case the rich owner who paid hundreds of
dollars to buy this dog would not want anyone that did not pay that much for
it to get the dog for a bargain (sic). Or in divorce cases, cause it was
"his" or "her dang dog".
Orlike ths dog my father once saw in an SPCA as he was loojing for a good
watch dog fr the zoo we then had, and spottign that garman sheppard
female, asked to adopt it, and was told that no, this one had to be
euthanized, cause she bit a mailman,.
My fatehr argued that this was a pure dog, and a very well marked one, the
ebsthe ever saw, and that she looked particularly intellgent. He then was
answered that indeed, she was the canadian champion in obstacle training
and in beauty contests too. But thatshe bit a mailman and had to eb put
under.
In thsoe days, thsi was never seen: i a dog bit someone on its
ownproperty, everyoen figured it was a dog, territorial and it did as it
was by natur. Unless the master ordered it to atatck of course, and even
then tehowner woudl be the oen sued, adn the dog put elsewhere. But to
eithanize a dog of two thatwas a Chamionin obedience, inobstacle races and
in ebauty for bitign a mailaan, a ost common thing, was never heard of in
those days.
It was the OWNER that ordered he destroyed.
My father managed against allrules to get her address, adn to go talk to
ehr and explain that we lived in the country where we had no friggen
mailman: we had to take the car to go fetch our mail atthe "general
store" where there was nto even a mailman!
After keepign at it against her arguments, she finally agreed, and we
ended up with Tanny. That dog at her young age knew EVERYTHING you coudl
ever possibly tell er and not. She figured thingsout for her own self.
One lunchtiem I was elft alone atthe zoo gate where poeple needed pay to
get in, with Tanny, as dad ad my bros had soemthign urgent to catake care of.
There Iwas when this car load of poeple, a family, comes to the gate and
after the fater asks me if I am alone at the gate, I say yes. He asks then
if I think I am going to make him pay, and how. I say well, I have tanny,
the german sheppard. But Tanny never had been used thatway, her presence
normally sufficed to keep poeple behaving. He laughed at me and
abnoxiously told his wife, who was finding that quite gfun too, to just
follow him, I was alone and no oen coudl then make himp pay to get in (and
it was veryv ery cheap too for families, liek 2 dolalrs flatrate ifa
family, and he did not look poor, just like a rich ass*le).
I waited. He walked passed the first gate. In mysix yearold words, I said
he ahd to pay t cross the secodn gate. He justwent "watch me!" and lauging
, crossed the secodn gaeand his wife, laughign was following. I did nto
kno what to do..I justsaid "Tanny...?" and she immediately got in
posuition, barking and warning, all teeth out, laying on the ground but in
frotn of him. He tried to laugh it out sme more, yellow lugh, and took
another step, and th dog got up, barking ad threatening, jumped twos teps
closer and got on the ground again, laying there but in attention mode and
serious warnign mode: make another step and meet tese teeth, sort of
thing. But she never touched them. Hurt in his pride to be defeated by a
six year old and "her" dog,t eh man went back to his car, telling me we
were this and that and teh zoo was not even this and that, when he ahd not
even got to it:).
No mroe ars came. I was stuck there....KNowign soemthign was wrogn up the
hill, but coudl nto elave the gate to go tell dad.
Finally, dad and my brothers came back and I told dad what had happeend
and told him no more cars came and I thougt the man was stoppign cars on
the oter side of the hill, hurt in his pride and taking a vengeance this
way. Forst eh brished it off, but wehen afer ten mintes he saw no car at
all, he sent my brother to see. He came back runnin sayign that indeed the
man was telling toerhs to nto come here that there was no animals at all
and so on...
My dad went to where the man was stoppign car and explaiend t poeple
whathad hapepend adn let them in.
But I rememebr the incident causeI did not knwo what to do, but Tanny
fiogured it out on her own, justfrom havign seen people stop at the gates
before, pay before entering, etc.
One day, we were swimming in a bassin at the bottom of nice huge falls.
Itwas the blue lagoon in much nicer:). Bu to get t the bassin, you had to
jump from a cliff. My brter often had doen it, but I was too chicken. That
day he encouraged me sayign that no, I woudl not ouch bottom, but I could
swim, and he could catch me would it take too long fr me to come out from
under the water after I jumped. I could float and swim, but was always
afraid if Ä—I did not feel the bottom under my feet.
To get out of there, you would elt the current at the end of the bassin
wash you sdown the big nice rounded bouldrs, int he whiterapids, not deep
enough to be dangerous, deep enough to not rip your l8mbs off:), covered
in nicd thick comfy green moss those were:). Was so much fun:)
Tanny was with me and stayed u^p the cliff, watchign on me...
Then Marge came along the top of the cliff. My rbtehr said to not tell ehr
she coudl not touch bottom cause she woudl freak out and be too chicken to
even jumop if she knew at all. So he todl her she woudl touch bottom with
her feet and to jump, tellign ehr come on, Chloe did, so can you!
After much coaxing, she jumped.
But contrary to me, she completely freaked out and moved about so muc she
woudl make herself sink no matetr hwo we tried to calm her down. Se,d not
elt us enar, completely hysterically panicking...As she was about to go
udner for good, plooch! Tanny *jumped the cliff*, swam to her, turned
justso Marge coudl garb her, at frst by he tail then hang on to her neck,
and tanny took ehr down teh rapids with her and puleld her out to the
shore....
Things Tanny had not been trained to do she woudl figure ut.
Whe my dad sold the zoo, he knew he coudl not rign Tanny tt he city cause
of mailmen...and his word to the woman....he did not want to risk her
knowign Tanny woudl be in town, and demanding her euthanized.
So he gave her to a man who had a grocery store.
Theman called him later to say the mostsunnign thign happened. Sicne
motnhs, their goods were stolen but they never ever coudl find who by.
Nothign was borken in, it had to be done in open hours, but watch as they
may, they never saw anyone leavign with anything! Then they had tanny in
the store one day....
A nun went to pay for an article at the cash, and then was about t walk
out the door when Tanny blocked her way. Sat in front of her barking. The
owner wodnered whatwas wrogn with ehr and ordered her quiet, but she woudl
not give up. Gently, she got on her hind legs and put her frnt aws on the
nun,s belly: their, in her nun dress, she hid the good she stole, and as
the dog scratched ehr there, she removed her hands and the goods started
falling on the floor. They enver woudl ahev suspected the nun to be the
oen doing it:).
I t4hen rememebred tanny at teh gate, and hw se someoen figured oenhad to
pay to be allowed in...e fiogured that all goods had to be put on the
counter and paid for atthat grocery before someoenw alked out*, simply!:)
Dad ad tanny mated with a Canadian champion, but it was too earluy to say
if she was pregnant for sure when we had to give her away....
We had a call, and dad was hittign his ehad on the wall, repeating"twenty
four! She had 24 pups!!! At 350-400 bucks each... 24 pups! Twenty four!!!!!!"
In those days, houses sold for 13,000 dolalrs:), whih was abut a one
year average salary...
I just hope the new owner did not have her have 24 pets fve tiems a year,
sort of thing......
I know someoen hearing of how she had found a thief offered to buy her a
very fat price and the man ad refused....I guess he then knew wat an
exceptional dog he had....And she was almost destroyed before she could even
procreate those genes.....causeshe bit a mailman. KNowing hwo smart tanny
was, this mailman maybe had on his mind soemthign more than delivering
mail....;-)

Description: The name "Shih Tzu" means lion dog in Chinese and he
received the name because of his long, flowing mane-like coat. The Shih
Tzu is a sturdy, lively, toy dog with long flowing double coat. He has a
distinctively arrogant carriage with head well up and tail curved over
the back. He may display an arrogant personality, but is actually
playful and gentle. He adapts well to any family situation and will
enjoy a cuddle in your lap, doing tricks, or fetching a tennis ball.

still be a pebble in eateat :(
what if you were to give him castor oil, just little dosages?
maby a drop or two? i know what you mean, if you were to give eateat a
teaspoon of castor oil it might make things worse. but i think a little
drop here, a little drop there wont hurt.
as to what the vet said about something in your house making pets live
longer, he is right you know? but does he know that it's you :)

I've had trouble with a few web sites and their definition of an
email interface. I've not used Yahoo. One site in particular
uses something in Java and the "reply to" button simply will
not fire; I have to use the "send new" button to send any
message. Perhaps you can copy and send your reply.
Good luck,
David
Yeah... A neighbor of mine a few years back had one, and so did my sister,
if hers was a mix...
Hm...Family dogs...sure, but the oens I "knew" tended to seem to have an
exclusive link with their owner. Usually women.
Maybe you did not feel as close to it atforstause he was a small dog and
those are usually thought of as dogs women would have rather than men?

Yeah, but on the bottle there is a warnming thatsays that incase of
repeated use, it can create gastric problems and to not use it if a fever,
*tummy ache*, gastric probs occur....
The idea is not to use it as a laxative: EatEatdoes fine now in
thatregard. But as a lubricant to try and help himpass whatever woudl be
inside if anythign blocked.
After telling him repeatedly last night thateh had to poop whenever he
needed to, thatI was home or not, else it was hurting his tummy, he
listened well, and did his job pronto today, where he did not have
pain...Coincidence? Time will tell....
But in any case his tummy did not swell up so bad today, if he did not
want to get up all day...He stayed layign down, until evening, when I told
him after he did wet the floor that if he coudl not get up, thatwas fine,
but tat if I was home adn he felt he coudl walk, then I prefered peepee
outdoors...So later hepooed on the floor, hen asked the door to go pee,
mpft. Makes me laugh, thatdg, understanding words so well:)

Actually, as I write thatpost eysterday, I started wodnering if he exactly
ahd not noticed andwas not reacting to that. I also wondered if he knew
thatvets used to call me when they agve up on pets or could not find
what was wrogn with them, xrays and exams not showign what the problem
was with one of their clients, pet....But I dunno, just wondered about
thatas I wrote that post yesterday....
I know my niece worked there a while as an assistant..So go figure...Fr
all I know, maybe he is just like many vets and prefers to startwith a
young puppy cause that means many comign apointments, then drops them when
they start aging...
C
It works more often sicne a day or two, if not regularly...
Go figure. But that gives me to think the glictch is not with my pc then....
When it decides to give me a hard time, -almost every time-, I then can
not even gt to READ the incoming bfore 10-20 or more attempts, and triple
thatto then getto the reply, and 10 tiems thatto get to send...:(
Each change of page jams up, and takes many many tries to get there. But
en other times like this weekend answerign kiddo, I got in forst shot,
answered forst shot,sent first shot....
His message was the forst on top, have not made it to second...Maybe it
will work now, or at leastsoemtimes...
When tim allows I will give it another shot...Time will tell if it is now
fxed or better pr justwas a fluke this weekend I coudl read and reply to
kiddo without probs.
Then again, I had to try amany tiems to get into yahoo, it said it coudl
not find the server when the connection was fine. In fact with the same
connection, I coudl get in after three attempts...and whatdo you know, it
found the server....Sigh...

i think what all started me not wanting a dog myself, when i was a kid,
our dog for some reason went wacko and grab me by the wrist. not hard
enough of a bite to draw blood but hard enough to leave teeth marks.
with pooch, we didn't know much about his breed until we got the internet.
i wonder if your neighbor or your sister had a problem with theres like
my mom had with pooch, we were all sitting, watching tv and pooch who we
thought was sleeping in a bedroom when he comes into the front room,
dragging one ma's bras :p
i still laugh when i think of that :)
i never knew that about castor oil,
i'd never drink the stuff, what about prune juice?
if you have one close by, maby pop into a pet store and see if they have
any suggestions?

LOL:)
Not that I know of L:)
But different dogs do differ3nt things, some of them being naughty or
annoying. Some try ad wank people's legs for instance (thank God I never had a
dog trying that, I'd have flown it so far it would not have known its way
back:)). But I know for havign had many dogs that those are the pups that
were seperated too young from the mm: very few people know that the mom
dogs actually teac their pups when about 3 months about sex, making them
actually have days of practicing the movements, as young as they are. On
the first day, the mom will let them have a try at practicing the movement
on whatever gender sibbling. Course they do not copulate, they are too
young to even reproduce then. But just sexual education time it is. On day
two, mom goes about in the middle of her praticing pups and corrects this
or that movement, or will gently pus them down the ther if they are at the
wrog end for instance:). And on te third day, she will actually make sure
they pick the right gender. Aft6er she did, any pup picking the wrong
gender again by distraction or negligence or not having paid attention to
mom,s teachings is taken by the neck and flown off the other with mom
showing serious and not amused at all. After those three days are done,
all teaching is done and none is tried againin, sae by the dogs on their
own when of age of reproduction. The male dogs that take a go at people's
legs did not stay with the mom long enough for that "education" time to
take place. Most manage, but some really have not a clue what to do with
the urge.
But some dogs take on odd habits of their own, unrelated to anything
sexual. I had a great dane who woudl EATanything made out of whool.
He never went for artiicial fibers or any other natural fiber. But forget
anything made out of whool, and he woudl eat it or part of it anyway. He
ate blankets, sweaters, gloves, mites, scarfs, you name it. I imagine
thatas a pup, the owner ket the litter on some rags made out of whool...He
associated whool with "feeding".
Or take Lad wh needs to pee on *anything* made out of plastic...Pain in
the neck that is....

> i never knew that about castor oil,

Laxative, but not a lubricant in any other way. I'd not try it on him...
He is "regular" lately, since he does not try and hold it to not make a
mess in the house. And I'd not want the mess justfor the sake of a
laxative unless he so needed.
Lately he does okay, since he accepted to not wait to do his job. But the
fact I perfer that he pees outdoors still when he an confuses him where he
again started tryign to hold it for the bigger job too.
Thing is, to pee, he can pee without needing to crouch. But not for the
rest, and his hind legs are not strong enough yet to support him if he
tris to do his job crouching. He just can not at this time. PLus the pain
in his intestine seems to go away if he does not wait when I am not home
or am asleep, waiting for me to elt him out. Since he can nt crouch to do
his job outdoors anyway, I the allow him to do that n the house. But tell
him that for peepee, lady prefers he goes out.
Poop os easier to pick and wash away than pee. And with male dogs, the
smell can go away faster too: male pee is just awful for smell, specially
when I need to have carpets s he does not slip and fall when walking. Eve
washing those in the machine for the corridor type of carpettes still
leaves the scent in, and creates a build up of yukky rancid smell. So I
then have to throw away the rugs and carpets and get new ones. Therefore
my prefering him to go out to pee *when I am there* or if he can wait a
short while, say,and yet trying to make him understand that if it hurts
his tummy, then he CAN pee indoors too, on the washable carpettes, less
expensive to replace and thatcan be thrown in the washer, vs the bigger
carpets that would need rental and would still carry the smell anyway.
Fior now, I have the corridor type of carpettes everywhere theire is no
bigger "real" carpet, that is for now the old carpets thatwere thrown out
of my uncle,s house for being too used, btu thatc an alst a time here with
EatEat's ocasional ""accidents"", after I got rid of the carpets I bought
in a carpet store, roll elftovers that woudl fit in front of the couch,
and between the kitchen and dining room, so he coudl walk without slipping.
Between the oens I have put to replace those now, i.e. the old ones from
the uncle,s place, are the corridor or door step type of anti-slip
carpettes all over the floors on the main floor.Save in the dining room
itself, wehre he can not much walk cause he can not make a tight turn
anymore between the table/chairs and aquarium or couch...I then put the
floor big fan to blck a side of the dining room, and a plant and chair to
block the other "lane" between te dining room table nd couch, so he does
not end up in a cul de sac:).

For laxatives, I have what vets give. But he does not need laxatives at
this time. I have some for when and if he woudl need that, which is for
dogs the same thign as they give cats against fur balls,i.e. a paste
that you usually put a dab of on a cat's nose, where the cat licks its
nose and swallows it, and it helps pass hairballs. It is in fact a
laxative, a mild lubricant if you will. or dogs, you just use more
according to their weight and how bad they need it. I give him that when
and if needed, btu that woudl not do the same for passing some blcked
object, say.

Thanks...
He is not getting up much, scaredof the new carpettes a bit. But I see he
noticed at least with the one by the door today, that it ill not slip,
where he then jumps in trusting y now it will stay there even if a corner
would turn over if he trips in it somehow or flips it over. The tiem he
sees the other ones will not slip either, he shoudl feel much more at ease
and safe to walk.
e finally drank a lot last evening, after I told him seign he woudl not
drink enough at all that everythign drinks. Even trees and grass, and did
he not see Lady watering plants? Plants drink too. Lady always drinks
soemthing. Told him when eh still woudl not drink that Lady wated him to
please please drink cause if not drink, he would "dying in heaven", and
lady dd not ant him to dying in heaven "now". I add now cause I always
told them when they missed the cas and Tchip Tchip that they were in
ehaven, and ehaven was a nice place you went when your booboo woudl hurt
too much all th time, cause there, there is no pain. Presentign it as a
nice palce, I then don,t want him to think I don,t want him to go to nice
palces either, and know that a time will come where I might tell him it is
best if e goes to heaven, see... Actually he still woudl not drink until I
explained that when dying in ehaven, he coudl see me, but I coudl never
see him again with my eyes, like he can not see Kekettewith his eyes, and
Fleabag, if theyc an see him....That made his eyebrows move like wehn he
thinks intensively, reflects, and an hour later, hestaretd drinking
industrially again...Just so I can see him "cause he not dying in heaven":).
His skin is now hydrated again, his fur coat nice and sft and all, and he
looks much better too when drinking of course, i.e. in better shape:).
I tink he had figured out that if he drank, he woudl pee, and tried to not
drink to not pee, keepign it to a minimum, but a minimum thatwas way too
low for his good...
He drak so much tonight that I woudl say he did catch up with the 2-3 days
of barely drinking:).
He finally could sleep restfully after eh went out at midnight....nd now
** am awake LOL:)
Lad now acts as a dog fr the blind dogs, helping EatEat when dark to find
his way in the yard...EatEat can follow him around the yard then, but can
not see a thing and know where to go unless he can follow Lad closely.
Sometimes Lad will go about hsis own thing and then EatEatis stuck in a
corner of the fence, not knowing which way he shoudl turn...I ten will ask
Ld to go help EatEat, and he started obeying thattoo, showing he
understands quite well all right whatI am saying. He willthen get to
Eateat fast enough, then signal his presence, go in front of EatEat, pause
for EatEat to get in gear, then walkchecking t see if Eatat is following,l
and tak him bak to the patio door step:).
Handy when it is nightime and I am in undies waiting inside. Don't have to
get all dressed to getEatEat back from the other end of the yard:)
Lad was told again what a nice good dog he is to listen to lady, and is
then given plenty pats to reinforce the good behavior. This tim, as he
layed on te couch back from the yard nd I patted him tellign him how good
he did to help EatEat back in, as I stopped pattign nhim after 5 minutes,
he garbbed my arm ith his front paw, and dragged it back on his head LOL:)
Told hm how sorry Lady was that poor Lad was neglected and did not get as
many pats lately, with EatEat and Titan too thatw ere so sick lavign Lady
to just do the basic with other birds and petd: food and water and the
minimum attention and pats a day....d patted him longer, telling him again
how nice he was to have waited so long and elt Lady help EatEat so long.
cause EatEathad big booboo....
Now he too sleeps soundly...On my pillow (covered with a towel so I
don't breat dog hairs:).
I still have to get to find some way to amke tu'tle eat semthing. Will go
hunt for ehr fisdh this evenign after work again, but if none still of the
kind she eats, she will have to survive eatign soemthing!!
Everything else I tried so far she refused....
On the good side, the new cockatiel seems t interestTweed enough to hint
at its being female...Unless Tweed is really desperate....And Tootsie,s
own behavior would hitn thatway as well....Takng submissive inviting
postions and all.....
I might end up with seven cockatiels in a few months.....(add "deflating" sigh
sound here).
Mpffft.:)
