This is very emberassing, I have had a stone stuck less than 1 inch from
the end of my penis for the last 16 hours,, I have had many kidney
stones over the last 32 years, but never one that stuck here, and I
don't want to go to the emergency room. My Dr. is out of town for the
week,, I need some suggestions on how to get this thing moving the rest

I figured a way to blast it out,, and it worked.

That was one BIG kidney stone 5mm X 8mm, shaped like a bullet, but it
must have been tail first to hang up like that, I've got an awesome
photo of it

Hey Rodney, Embarrasment ? That's the least of your problems. I just
stumpled on this last night, and I sure hope that by now your problem is
solved, but like you, I've been a chronic stone former for decades, and
maybe I can offer a little of my experience with the same type of
problem you just had, a few years back, in case it happens to you again.
I was fishin in the river behind my apartment when I got sudden, very
sharp pains in my bladder, and wound up crawling back into my apartment.
From my experience, which seems to be similar to yours, [passable
stones] , I found tha the best remedy is simply huge amounts of water.
When I get an attack, I take pain meds, open a fresh gallon of distilled
water, and get it into my body as fast as possible, usually within a
half hour, and then I start working on another one, although at a slower
pace. So, on that day, I went into the bathroom, sat down, and started
pounding water. Since my 8mm stone was also stuck in my penis, I decided
to resist the urge to urinate, until I REALLY had to go, and therefore,
when I just couldn't hold it anymore, I had a very very strong stream.
It hurt, I could feel it tumbling in there, but out she came. The hard
part was to get myself to allow my stream to start, cuz I kew it was
gonna hurt, but I put my mind elsewhere and let er go. Avoided one more
trip to the hospital. Like I said, I sure hope your "passed" that now,
but maybe this'll help next time, if there is one. Like I said, I've
been a former for 26 years, and mine have allways been small enough to
pass, but now that I'm 50, they seem to be growing larger. I plan to get
an X-ray once a year from now on, cuz I just went though my first stent
experience, and it was lousy. If we can find them before they'ye too
big, maybe we can avoid that. And one more thing, now that my stones are
bigger, I'm not sure that huge amounts of water willl be a good idea
anymore. I plan to ask my urolgist. You should too. They say that 8 mm
is about the limit, but I know I've pased em bigger than that. I'm no
doc, but I know whatcher going thru. Good luck Rodney, and remember our
motto,
"This too shall ....pass"

Yep I got it out,, but the way I did it was as follows,,

Gross painful details but here it is anyway

I couldn't get a strong enough stream to push it out,, so I let the
supply build up until I could not stand it, Then I pinched the base of
my penis, and opened the prostrate valve, pushed as hard as I could,
then released the pressure at the base of my penis. The repaid slug of
urine, pushed it the rest of the way out instantly, it only hurt for a
sec. I tried a couple of times just letting the bladder fill up, which
is not easy, as you know, but it didn't work

It would not come out normally because my stream would start very slowly

Now my bother in law had another solution, he told me if I would lay it
on the edge of the table he could take a hammer and bust the stone up so
it would pass. My wife laughed for an hour, after hearing his solution.

I'm down to passing the last stone, now,, I had 6 in the left kidney 3
months ago, and I'm down to one.

I hope this new thing I'm doing will eliminate the stones completely,
they did a study where they said the drinking of strong lemon aid every
day would lower the PH of your Urin, so calsium stones can not form. I'm
drinking a min. of 32 Oz of "real" lemon aid a day now

Glad to hear it Rodney, I think I'll leave thr hammer technique to yer
brother though. Sounds a little rough. I've got one more to worry about
too, and my urologist suggested the same thing. [lemon juice] Let's hope
it works for both of us

When I read your first post, I thought you were joking. ...The largest

ureter. ...But like all my other stones, once it hit the bladder, I peed
it out without even the slightest discomfort. ...Maybe my urethra was

According to the 2 Dr.'s I talked to, they had never heard of it
happening for so long. They said it is common for one to hang up there
because it started out at the end of the stream, but they are always
expelled at the next time they urinated.

I could send (email) you a photo of the stone, then you can see how, and
why it hung up, if it was coming out backwards, this stone actually had
a front and back to it, if you see the photo you will see that it does,,
it was shaped like a bullet, 5mm in Dia, and 8mm long, it was tapered at
one end and flat with jagged ends at the other.

Oh, OK.. I understand. With mine, I can feel them coming down the
ureter, especially when they get close to the bladder (my equipment
feels like it's going to open up like a peeled banana, at that point).
..But then, as soon as the pain stops, I know the stone is in the
bladder. ..Within the first second of peeing, out it drops (into my
sieve)

It did hang up,, for four weeks, they had me go in to the clinic for a
basket, but they refused to put me under,, so I left, started drinking
huge quantities of lemon aid,, the desolved some of it so it could
pass,, 4 weeks of total hell

Just took a look at the picture. Yikes!!! I'm surprised you even
survived. I'm heading in for an ultra-sound in a couple of months.
..My last stone was about 4 X 7 mm, but it was as smooth as a capsule
pill. Even at that, it felt like a water melon coming down. ...At least
if the ultra sound shows my next one to be as big, I can always opt for

Hi guys.

I know this is an old thread but I fear I may have the same problem.

I noticed about 3 days ago that when I urinate i feel a slight pain
just before i begin to actually pee. It does feel as though something is
stuck in my penis (like inside the head of the penis on the left hand
side)

I had blood in my urine about 6 months ago a few times but it cleared
up and hasn't happened since, but at the time I noticed that 'kidney
stones' often popped up when researching my symptoms on the web.

Is there a way for me to break the stone up or something?

edit: In my research on kidney stones I hear alot about the pain when
it passes the bladder but I haven't experienced any pain. Would that
mean that it isnt a kidney stone or that it maybe a small one or
sometinhg else?

If the stone were so small that you had no pain when it was passing
through the ureters (the "tubes" linking the kidneys to the bladder) -
the most painful part of kidney stone passage - it is unlikely that it
would be stuck in something as wide as your urethra (the passage from
the bladder out the body).

There are many things that could be causing the pain you're describing.
If you're still having hematuria (bloody urine) as well as the pain,
it's best to consult a doctor who can examine you, take your history and
perform tests.

Anecdotally, I have passed hundreds of stones (I'm passing one now,
yay!) but I'm an "innie" so have no first-hand experience with external
urethras.

Hi Rep.

Thanks for replying.

No. I have not noticed any blood in my urine for about 6 months.

I guess you're right. If i didn't feel any pain it would be a very
small kidney stone. If it is a very small kidney stone then it wouldn't
get stuck in my urethra. Therefore it is more likely a urinary tract
infection?

I can't do a dipstick test on you from here ... but I bet your doctor
could if you made an appointment. Internet diagnoses are worth even less
than what you pay for them!

There's a lot of things it coudl be - UTI, epididymitis, urethritis, etc
etc etc -and only a doctor who examines you, takes a history and runs
tests can tell you. People on the internet can't.

With all the stones I've passed, none have caused any pain at all,
during their movement from the bladder and and on out the penis... Even
a 7 mm sucker. ...However, even a stone a couple of millimeters across
can cause major pain during it's journey from the kidney to the bladder.
..once the pain stops, the stone has either shifted in the ureter, or
has dropped into the bladder. From here, you can pee it out with no
discomfort or pain.

Usually when the pain radiates down to the tip of the penis, it means
the stone is in the ureter, about to pass into the bladder. ...This
last inch, or so, the ureter constricts. ...I had a stone hang up in
there for a long time, and the only indication was an infrequet
appearance of blood in the urine.

..If the stone is small, during its passage from the kidney to the
bladder, you may get the urge to pee -- constantly... Even though
there's nothing there to come out. ...The pain in the back, in
conjunction with nausea and vomiting, occurs when the stone stops or
impedes the flow of liquid down the ureter. ...I always know when a
stone is ready to drop into the bladder, as shooting pains (almost like
electricity) travel down to the tip of the penis. ...You literally have
to grab the end, as it feels like you're going to open up like a banana.

Listen, off topic though....nothing is funnier than my sister (she was 32 at the time! and we are from NYC) ask me when I "came out" officially "How do you and your bf 'do it?'"
Do what , I asked.
She said, "You know.....IT. How do you do what we do?"
Clearly she was completely confused, so at 26, I'm giving her the birds and bees after she already gave birth to three children. I say, "Just the same as you, except you have three holes and we guys two." Pointing to her ears (nope....won't fit there, sis.), eyes (uhm, they say the result there burns like hell, so, no, not there, ether.) then after 10 minutes, mouth. Gold at, sis! The second was completely oblivious to her until her husband told her, and she was likw, "but $#@t comes out of there." I had a Lucille Ball moment in biology to her then, stating, "Yeah, but your period, placenta, pee, AND kid comes out of yourS. And ours doesn't bleed for 5 days, so which is worse, now." "Stoppit! I'm your sister. You can't talk to me like that." "Then don't ask where the farmer stores the horae, genius!" Her husband literally rolled off the 4.5' high bed laughing his assistant off. She clearly was an order of french fries short of a happy meal there.

I am going through exactly the same thing right now. I've had the blood and the pain and then today it started to burn mainly when I was almost done urinating. I then felt the stone about the same amount down as yours so I'm now drinking water like a fish. I really hope it passes without having to go to the ER where they use that thing to go in and grab it. I've had a stone once before but didn't have much pain and I went through everything in like 12 hours but this has been about 4 or 5 days of on and off pain so I'm glad its almost over.

I hope you didn't do this method? Jerry, it would cause more damage. I'm on this site cuz I'm at work and went to piss and felt movement in my urine stream. I sat down on the pooper and felt around for the stone in my penis. I was actually able to view and touch just the tip of the stone by pulling my pee hole back, I was unable to get it to move though....still gonna try later, maybe have my wife use tweezers and yank it out. For what it's worth, I've had 18 kidney stones and this is the first to get stuck. No Bueno!

My husband suffered for days and had it stuck at the base of his penis and next day he was scheduled for the basket retrieval method. I got to thinking what would lubricate and blast it out. I gave him a bj and sucked hard. He really felt taken advantage of cause he was not in the mood in the beginning but "pop", out it came. I'm glad I did not swallow his stone. He was too embarrassed to tell the doctor how he got it out when he called to cancel his procedure and refuses to tell anyone. I have no shame that I helped him out of his misery that way. He was on Flomax and all those meds. Now it's my turn. Just had Lithrotripsy yesterday but unfortunately my anatomy is not the same. Darn!

LOL I have been getting stones for the last 33 years period starting at the age of 17 and I'm not 50 I'm currently dealing with a 7 millimeter on my right side that was originally a nine millimeter Stone but they broke it up with lithoripsy see but not enough. I have six in my left kidney right now that are 5 millimeters or less. I've had hundreds of stones in the last 33 years. As you know it's always lots of fun dealing with the pain. Good luck to you all.

Has your urologist recommended a different diet? In my case, stones came from my change of diet. Or do you have PKD?

To have the kidneys last longer, try an extremely low protein diet. Read "Coping with Kidney Disease" by Mackenzie Walser.

A diet like that will help make the kidneys not go bad as soon from the PKD or Chronic Kidney Disease if that's what you have.

It is important to have blood tests for serum creatine, and get an eGFR reading too. If your eGFR reading is below 60 for 3 tests, then you have Kidney Disease and need to look into the book and see what you can do to delay or avoid dialysis, which is dangerous.

What is your eGFR reading now?

Have the doctor prescribed you a drug called pyridium. It's a numbing agent for your urethra. And then give it hell!

This phony has been coming around and making that plea before. It's crap. Pay no attention.

The post you're answering has bad links in it. I doubt it's for real.

I actually have found that squeezing the tip and holding the urine flow back for even a duration of seconds can have a huge helpful affect of moving the stone along quicker. My only guess is that causes the urethra to expand like a choked hose. I passed a 6mmX1.2c with this technique. Best of luck. I'm up around 35 stones. Started at age 21. Now 40

See a doctor. A hospital also can remove stones like that.

I also had a kidney stone lodged in my penis head. I had to use lubrication to get it out. It completely blocked the passage of urine.

STOP doing whatever is causing these. Go vegan and quit meat/dairy but
especially dairy. Excess of protein is a killer and in the west we are
way OTT. Plenty of water and watch the meds. A daily dose of olive oil
and sesame seed oil (small teaspoon) But its the usual suspects I'm
afraid so plenty of ruit and veg and daily walking as a minimum of
30mins.

I passed a 13MM stone on my own a couple months ago. When I brought it to my urologist he was shocked. I’m on some pills that lower the oxalate in my urine and even out the PH in my urine also. Hopefully this stuff works!
