Hi! Fleet phosphasoda is what my mother's nephrologist believes caused
her kidney failure. Since then we've heard of a few other people
saying it. As I understand it, it is listed as a possible side effect
on the warnings on the box, but it wasn't years ago (when my mom took
it).

One of my doctors commented that all sorts of things can negatively
affect the kidneys. I personally suspect Crestor in my own case, but
can't prove it. I stopped taking the statin immediately, but it was
too late. By then the process had started.

Crestor and all of the other statin drugs can cause kidney failure. The
reason is that the statins can damage the muscles. The muscle fibers end
of in the blood. The blood carries the muscle fibers to the kidneys. The
muscle fibers cause the kidneys to fail. It happens to the husband of one
of my internet friends. He developed a disease called Rhabdomyalysis. I
suggest that you google that disease and find out if you have any of the
symptoms of that disease.

I know about the Rhabdomyalysis problem with the statins. I don't
have that particular problem, thanks to mother nature...
The Cardiologist that prescribed the statin for me was actually
angry that I stopped taking it!! I did some research on the statins
and found they aren't doing any real good for many people.
Try www.spacedoc.net to get a real earful on the statins from a
doctor lwth his own troubles with Lipitor.

Thank goodness that you do not have Rabdomyalysis. It's a terrible
disease. I stopped taking statins due the memory problems that you
mentioned in your post. I have a Master's Degree and now can not even
spell various words that I could easily spell before I started taking
statins. I learned about the space doc in a book that I read about
statins.

My brother had trouble with Lipitor when he was alive, and he
stopped taking it. Duane Graveline at www.spacedoc.net had trouble
with memory too, but it cleared up when he stopped taking the
statins. His site there is as good as any I've seen for the problems
and what to do about statins. I just came across an article in
Euralert that 900 studies are suggesting that statins are causing
