Finally after much searching and some waiting, my order of Ump Cups
have arrived yesterday from JLH Engraving Inc. in West Milford, NJ.
Its web address is: http://www.jlhengraving.com/ They sell the Ump
Cup at $10.00 each.
I was able to insert one easily into the tunnel pouch of an All-Star
K180F adult style supporter, which is made especially for the Original
Banana Cup. It fits perfectly. You can get the All-Star K180F cup jock
from David Bowen Sports, http://www.bowensports.com.
Right now I am wearing an outfit of sweatpants and hooded sweatshirt
with the Ump Cup in the pouch of the All-Star cup jock. The Ump Cup as
you know is the Original Banana Cup with a much thicker gasket. It
feels real good!!! I haven't warn such a comfortable cup & jock combo
since BIKE Athletic Co. came out the BIKE banana cup in 1986. It also
had a thick gasket.
I think I am going to write Honigs in Ann Arbor, MI where they are
based telling them that they have to add the Ump Cup again to their
line-up of athletic products.

I still have a few of those original Bike Banana cups in the original box. I
walked into a sporting goods store that was selling them off as old stock.
Also liked the supporter they had back then too. Much better.

Now that you've got one, you can tell us in detail: Other than the thickness of
the gasket, how does the shape compare?

The Ump Cup like the OBC has more triangular shape than the BIKE
banana cup. Of course with the thicker gasket it is even more so, but
not by much. The BIKE banana is narrower in shape. It was designed
that way to prevent chafing of the thighs of the athlete. But since
umpires and other sports officials don't move as much, that wouldn't
matter.
I believe that the cup design along with a comfortable gasket should
agree with the cup style supporter used. That is why the BIKE CUP no.
85 supporter unit when it first came out in 1986 was so good. But BIKE
Athletic Co. had gotten complaints from athletes (and umps) that the
cup with its thick polyethelene foam gasket was hard to insert into
the pouch of the cup supporter that they redesigned both the cup and
supporter to something new. The BIKE CUP no. 85 is now a copolymer cup
with a thinner gasket and the cup supporter has the traditional metal
snaps on its tunnel pouch.
Getting back to the Ump Cup, the only drawback I have noticed is
that soft, thick gasket is rather fragile. One of the cups arrived
with the gasket partly torn from the cup. It had been damaged in
transit.
BaseballFan and I have been in touch on this problem. I noticed the
my Ump Cups arrived in plastic envelopes with the label, BodyGuard
Products Inc.
There is a company by that name in Emmaus, PA. It is owned by Dale
Culton, a softball umpire. His number is 1-800-274-6070. Dale makes
spare gaskets for the Ump Cup. I am going to try to contact him soon.

So it is the same dimensions and depth just without the pointy tip that
sometimes pokes guys down there.
As far as the rubber gaskets in cups. The biggest problem occurs when guys
take thier cups out or put them in while wearing the supporter. I have never
done this. I put it on and leave the cup in till I am done playing sports or
wearing my cup for whatever reason I might have it on that day.
Most guys don't like wearing cups. The good part of this is after a softball
game you can watch all the guys reaching in their pants and pull their cup out.
I wonder if I can get a job taking cups out for guys. Hmmmmmmmm
