RM 020 is the first pocket watch in the history that is made with the
use of nonmetal platinum. Platinum is made of carbon nanofibers that
are used in military aircraft construction. It is an isotropic
composite material forming at the very high pressure and temperature
(2000oC) that result in the highest mechanical, physical and chemical
durability of the material. Tourbillon release primarily invented in
the 19 century for pocket watches is driven by two winding barrels.
Both barrels are connected and provide a 10-day’s power reserve. The
power reserve indicator is placed between 9 and 10 o’clock. RM 020 is
supplemented with a titanium chain with a lock and a special support
allowing to use the RM 020 as a desk watch. All models of RM 020
feature titanium central cases and front and back case made of 18-
carat rose gold, white gold or titanium.
