Cortisone is probably not a good idea, since it leaves the skin more
vulnerable to infection and thins the skin. You are probably trading
short term relief for long term misery.
Try common anti-itch creams or powder like Gold Bond. Mmmm. Menthol.
If you have an infection, try Micatin powder for fungus infections or
Listerine for bacterial infections. Apply these things sparingly with a
Q-tip and be careful not to get so much residue that you damage your
instruments.
Any time you get sweaty take your hearing aids out, and dry the canal
with Q-tips several times a day. That helps a lot for me.
