Hearing tube replacement

I've just started to replace tubes myself after finding out that my place
was charging $25. I've done it once successfully after some trepidation but
now after several months of use one of the tubes is coming out.

I would appreciate any suggestions for keeping them in more securely and/or
what adhesives would work beside superglue.

I use tubes from Lloyd that have an enlarged end that go into the
earmold. After cutting to length I boil some water to heat the TIP of
the tube, then push it into place. Be sure you are not trying to put the
tube into the vent.

They cool quickly, then will not slip out.

The straight end of the tube slips onto the outside of the tip of the
aid itself, and the heat helps that as well. However, I cut down the
very tips of a small pair of needlenose pliers to facilitate enlarging
that end.

Once the water is hot I can change a tube in under a minute, start to
finish.

If the tubes were glued in the last time they were changed by the
audiologist, how does one remove them without damaging the ear-mold?

I have a reamer made from a drill bit of the right diameter - clamp it
in small ViseGrips. Avoid enlarging the bore diameter.

Also, one way of getting a straight tube (no bulbous enlargement) into
the bore of the earmold is to slit part of the tube, cut away half, feed
the remainder through the bore, and then pull the whole thing through -
snip as appropriate.

Thanks for all the responses. To clarify, I haven't had any problem getting
the tubes to get in..The tubes I buy have a taper cut into the end so that I
don't even need a a tool to pull the tube through. All is well for several
months and then suddenly one the tusbes (the same side all the time)
disconnects from the mold. When I had it done at the hearing aid center the
tubes were glued in and I didn't know what adhesive was used. I wondered
what other people used as an adhesive for their tube replacements.

I thought I would get a response from one the experienced users here.
