Squeaky Shoes

The other day at work a stranger peaked over my cubicle wall and announced they had squeaky shoes. I realized that this person had just received hearing aids and hadn't realized their shoes were probably squeaking the whole time. Each step, each squeak brought joy to this individual. It made me realize how much I take my hearing for granted. Tomorrow I'm going to sit outside in the morning and just listen to the sounds around me.... I hope everyone takes some time to slow down to listen.
