I have some hearing loss in noisy and group situations. One
audiologist is recommending the Avio3's for me. $4,200 for a pair.
There appears to be absolutely no information on the web about these
aids and Interton's web site did not help.

Does anyone have any experience with these aids? If so, what did you
pay for them?

I am currently testing the Siemens Pure 700's and so far I am not
impressed.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi,

I haven't had experience with those hearing aids but hearing in group
situations is the most challenging situation.

I believe it can take months to get used to a pair of hearing aids and
gain full benefit from them (the brain has to re-learn to hear) - so
you might find that it improves over time. I found when I first
switched to digital hearing aids I couldn't hear as well, took a month
or two for me to adjust to hear speech as well again. This is a
slightly different situation from yours, as I was going from one type
of hearing aid to another, so the sound changed a lot.

If I understand your post correctly you'll be doing the same - going
from no hearing aid to amplified sound... so to recap it could be that
it'll take time for your brain to learn to interpret the amplified
sound (like it used to interpret sound prior to the hearing loss).

Sorry I can't offer any more insights into those particular hearing
aids but I hope my experience my offer some comfort and help.

Cheers,

Ben.
