Buzzing sound Bernafon CHRONOS 9 Hearing Aids

I own a set of Bernafon CHRONOS 9 Hearing Aids for 8 months.

As I speak, my voice speech and all other sources of speech I hear are
modulated with a low level 'buzz' sound (buzzzzzzzz). Is this normal?
I also listened to my voice with a much older hearing aid. With that set
of aids there is a lot less buzz.

Is this possibly caused by my brain/ears since buzz is heard on two
different hearing aids? This sound is not feedback and I do have low
level ringing in my ears.

Thanks for any comments.

Obviously the aid is introducing some form of distortion. In a sense, all hearing aids introduce distortion - beefing up parts of the spectrum where your hearing is poor. So, particularly in the digital age, it is not hard to imagine bizarre forms of unwanted distortion, such as you are experiencing. It should be easily fixed. Go back to your audiologist.

There is a new hearing aid that is coming out in US. My audiologist sent me an invitation to try it. It is for those who have tinnitus, and tries to mute the tinnitus that is created by your brain when you cannot hear well. The company that makes the electronics is Sound Cure. The ENT professor is now in Silicon Valley, CA. trying to monetize his invention. I tried looking for that ad from my audiologist but I cannot find it now. When I find it I will post here again.

I tried to get that device(Sound Cure) from Univ. of California, Irvine, but they think I should do the cochlear implant. The reason I am hearing it is because my hering is bad and the brain is compensating by giving me the buzz or tinnitus.

Yes - I described the whole process in boring detail to the group. If you search 'ken ci' in the group you will get the whole story.

I got the implant in 2006 and I would say it took my hearing back to what it was around 1980 or even earlier.

For anyone with profound, and deteriorating hearing loss, ci offers more than hope. It promises a near-miracle.
