Returned the Phonak instruments of torture today for a 100% refund - no
fitting fee! I'd taken a print-out of the style of HA I could wear, a
BTE with a tiny plastic shell that goes in the canal but she said that
it wouldn't block of sound well enough to prevent feedback and the I of
T were the only solution. She said the canal needed to be blocked
completely to prevent feedback and the only kind that would do that were
BTEs connected to an ITE, teh same style that stops me from using my
amplifier more often because of its earbuds, standard stereo ones.

And the HAs in the print-out were American and she could only supply
Canadian-made ones. Problem here too is that if an audio does sell
U.S.-made ones, they don't cost USD $X times the current exchange rate,
they're usually USD $X plus at least 30%. The Phonaks were CAD$3200 for
both ears and I wonder how much more I'm willing to pay.

This makes the second audio I've seen in the past month, and with my
hopes up then dashed completely, I don't feel much like punishing myself
further especially when it doesn't look promising at all.
