Coffee Causes Diarrhea

I don't drink coffee on weekends and only drink one cup a day during
the week. It's interesting that every Monday morning a hour or two
after drinking coffee I have diarrhea.

Is this due to an allergy to the coffee?

Perhaps your are sensitive to the acids
and/or caffeine in coffee. I have
had similar experiences with coffee
when I drink it on an empty stomach
and when I am sleep deprived. Having
food with, or before, the coffee seems
to help me.

I read once that coffee is actually a laxative. Can't quite remember where
I read it, but I know other people who have had the same problem with coffee
that you described. I can't swear it's not an allergy though, so you might
want to check it out further.
